Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan’s longtime girlfriend, Amber “Rella” Williams, recently described having about $8,000 of her own money after his death, a claim now circulating widely alongside estimates of his $3.5 million net worth.
Dequantes Devontay Lamar, known as Rich Homie Quan, died on September 5, 2024, at age 34. The Fulton County Medical Examiner ruled the death an accidental overdose from the combined effects of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine. Williams found him unresponsive at their Atlanta home and called 911.
The couple had been together roughly 15 years and shared two sons, Royal and Layor. They never married. Quan had additional children from other relationships, with family members commonly citing five kids total.
In a conversation clip shared by AkademiksTV and others around September 20, 2026, Williams stated:
“I ain’t thinking about no life insurance. When he passed, I stopped paying on everything. I stopped paying on credit cards. I stopped everything… I had probably 8000 to my name. That’s it. I had to run with that.”
She added that Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, has helped support the children.
Williams, an entrepreneur who runs brow and beauty businesses under names including Brows By Rella, made clear she was describing her personal liquid funds at the time, not the total value of Quan’s estate.
Corey Lamar has addressed the estate in interviews, including on the “It’s Up There” podcast. He stated Quan left no will and nothing in writing.
“Coin didn’t have a wife. He didn’t have a will. He didn’t have anything in writing,”
Lamar said. He emphasized that the children are the next of kin and that efforts have focused on trusts and structured support so they benefit from the music catalog and legacy.
There is no information of independent public filing on the full inventory or distribution details. The posthumous album has still been coming out and all the proceeds go to the kids.
