Playboi Carti (real name Jordan Terrell Carter) is facing serious legal trouble after being charged with assault following a violent altercation with a limousine driver in Utah earlier this month. The incident, which occurred on October 2, 2025, has sparked renewed concern over the artist’s history of violent behavior.
According to police reports and newly released 911 dispatch audio obtained by TMZ, the confrontation began when Carti and his rumored girlfriend, Giovanna Ramos, began arguing in the back of a limo traveling from the Waldorf Astoria in Park City to a rehearsal for his Antagonist Tour.
The 911 recordings reveal the chaos that unfolded as officers were dispatched to the scene. In the audio, one responding officer can be heard saying:
“Suspect that got in vehicle… went down. We going to find. Apparently, he’s threatened to hit and shoot the driver, so we’re going to try to catch him.”
Police say Carti not only assaulted one driver but also threatened to “hit and shoot” a second chauffeur, Lance Hayes, before fleeing the area.
The primary victim, Carl Reynolds, who drives for ALC A Limousine Connection, told police that the altercation began after Carti and Ramos engaged in a heated argument “over intimate matters.”
Reynolds said he attempted to calm the situation by pulling over and contacting Carti’s security team to separate the couple. At one point, he noticed Ramos “hunched over holding near her chest,” but did not directly witness any physical contact between the two.
When Reynolds intervened, Carti allegedly punched him in the face, leaving him with a bruised jaw and visible knuckle marks, according to the police report. Officers photographed the injuries as evidence.
Carti was formally charged with misdemeanor assault on October 9, 2025, a week after the incident. The charges currently only pertain to the alleged assault on Reynolds — not the threats made toward Hayes.
Despite the confrontation, Carti continued his tour and performed the following night at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the case remains under investigation.
Carti is expected to appear in court in December 2025.
Ramos, a Brazilian-born model and social media personality based in Atlanta, dismissed the reports as “fake news” on her Instagram story. However, the official police report and filed charges contradict her statement.
The two have been romantically linked since early 2025 after being spotted together at multiple public events.
This is not the first time Carti has faced violence-related allegations. His record includes:

- 2019: Fined $900 for assaulting a tour bus driver in Scotland
- 2020: Arrested in Georgia for possession of drugs and firearms

As Carti continues his Antagonist Tour, set to conclude in Atlanta on December 1, 2025, questions linger about accountability and the rapper’s repeated run-ins with the law.
The newly surfaced 911 dispatch audio underscores the escalating nature of the incident, suggesting it was far more serious than an isolated act of aggression.
Neither Carti nor his representatives have issued a public statement regarding the charges.
