Lamar Jackson Deserves NFL MVP

Jackson Deserves The NFL MVP

Many people believe that Lamar Jackson deserves the NFL MVP for the 2019 season. For a player to secure MVP it helps if their team is succeeding as well. This is something that Lamar Jackson has definitely led to happening. Jackson’s high level of play has resulted in the Baltimore Ravens sitting atop the AFC North with a record of 9-2.

Along with this, the Ravens’ offensive production has been top-notch this season. In terms of rushing ability, it is clear this team is unmatched. The Ravens lead the league in total rushing yards this season with 2,316 yards. The next closest team only has 1,602 total rushing yards this season.  The Ravens currently rank 2nd in total yards per game in the NFL and lead the league in points per game. The Ravens are one of two teams averaging over 30 points scored per game, having an average of 35.1 points per game.

Jackson Is Unmatched In Rushing Skills For QBs

The numbers that Jackson has put up in terms of rushing this season are historic. Currently, Jackson is on pace to have 1,274 total-rushing yards this season. In regard to rushing performances by QBs this is unmatched this season and in general. Jackson more than doubles the next QBs total-rushing yards this season and is on pace to break the single-season total rushing yards of a QB by more than 200 yards.

When it comes to rushing performances, in general, this season Lamar’s numbers are still very good. Jackson is 9th in total rush yards this season, RBs included. Along with this Jackson is leading the league in average yards per rush with 7.1 yards.

Jackson Is An Elite QB

Jackson deserves the NFL MVP. This can be seen not only by his running skills but his passing ability as well. Jackson has an impressive completion percentage of 66.9%. Jackson is ranked 23rd in the league in terms of pass attempts per game, but this is not even necessarily a bad thing.

Instead, this just goes to show how efficient Jackson is when it comes to his passing ability. So far this season Jackson leads the NFL in total touchdowns thrown with 24. These numbers are no fluke. It would seem that Jackson can compete with the best of them. The Ravens have won their last 5 games, beating impressive teams such as the Patriots and Seahawks. Jackson’s Monday night showing of  5 passing touchdowns against the Rams only goes to reaffirm his dominance.

What do you guys think though? Has Jackson proven himself? Does Lamar Jackson deserve to be the NFL MVP? Or is he just impressing people with his rushing abilities?

Robber With Machete Shot And Killed By Police!

A man with a machete was shot and killed in LA by police after he committed two separate robberies!!

Video captured a man with a machete being shot and killed by police in Los Angeles on Monday. In the video, the suspect can be seen being surrounded by police as he holds a machete. The man then enters a car and tries to escape before crashing into two police cars.

The man with the machete allegedly had just committed a robbery at a local auto shop. According to a CNN affiliate, the man stole batteries and jumper cables from the auto shot and proceeded to a nearby Chick-fil-a parking lot. Once in the Parking lot, the man carjacked someone and tried to escape.

However, by this time police were already in the area. The cops surrounded the car the man with the machete was attempting to steal. Yet this wasn’t enough to stop the man as he still got into the car and tried to get away even though officers surrounded him on foot and in cars.

The man didn’t get far as he crashed into police cars as he was trying to escape in the car.

After crashing the man tried to escape on foot, still carrying the machete in his hand. The cops pursued him and tried to use non-lethal force at first but the didn’t work.

They then open fire on the man striking him multiple times. The man was transported to a local hospital but eventually died from his wounds. One officer was hurt in the incident but was able to be treated for “minor bruises and scraps” at the scene of the crime.

From the video, it’s clear the man had some mental issues. Any black man surrounded by the cops while holding a weapon who isn’t shot on sight, who then proceeds to try escape and actually charge at the cops must have something wrong with him.

What do you guys think about the man with the machete? Did he have mental issues or just a death wish?

Eagles Still Have A Shot At Playoffs

Eagles Still Have a Chance At Making The Playoffs

The Eagles have continuously struggled to meet expectations this season. This can be seen by things such as their current record of 5-6. Although this doesn’t seem like all too great of a thing the Eagles still have a shot at the playoffs.

Currently, the team is ranked second in the NFC East. The only team ranked above them in their division is the Dallas Cowboys, who have a 6-5 record. Whereas the Redskins and Giants, the other two teams in their division, hold abysmal records of 2-9. This means that they only have to outperform one team to make the playoffs, giving them much better odds.

It’s Been A Rough Season So Far

The Eagles still have a chance at making the playoffs, but offensive struggles have made this more difficult. Many people have gone to blame starting QB, Carson Wentz, and head coach, Doug Pederson, for the team’s current issues. Wentz and Pederson do deserve to take partial blame for the team’s struggles, but there are a number of other causes that should not be overlooked. Unfortunately, the Eagles have been faced with multiple offensive threats becoming injured throughout the season.

Injuries to offensive players this season include names such as RBs Jordan Howard and Darren Sproles as well as key tackles Lane Johnson and Jason Peters. Another major problem with the Eagle’s offensive production stems from a lack of quality receivers. This can be seen by the loss of essential receivers DeSean Jackson, Nelson Agholor, and Alshon Jeffery.
Eagles Still Have A Shot-1

The Defense Isn’t To Blame

Whereas the offense has yet to really step up this season, the same cannot be said for this team’s defense. Although there have been some slip-ups overall the Eagle’s defense has been able to perform on a consistent level. Evidence of this can be seen by the team’s ability to hold the Patriots and Seahawks to 17 points respectively. This team’s defense has let the Eagles still have a chance at making the playoffs.

Eagle’s Remaining Schedule Is Quite Easy

Thankfully for the Eagles’ sake, the remainder of their schedule is really quite easy. Out of the 5 remaining games that they have left to play, only the Cowboys currently hold a record better than 2-9. Whereas Dallas’ remaining games actually involve some level of competition. The Cowboys are set to play teams that have almost won at least half their games or more besides the Redskins. In order to make the playoffs, all the Eagles have to do is outperform Dallas for the remainder of the season, and beat them in their final faceoff.

What do you guys think though? Do the Eagles still have a shot at the playoffs? Or will this lackluster season of offensive woes only go to continue?

Bill Cosby Ain’t Sorry About S**T, No Remorse

Bill Cosby Ain’t Sorry About Shit Cause He Knows He Aint Do Anything to be sorry about

Legendary Entertainer Bill Cosby is in Jail and will be for a while. “Mr. Huxitiable” is eligible for parole in 3 years and could avoid serving the whole ten. However, if the parole board is expecting him to show remorse for his crimes like other inmates… They can forget it.

Cosby gave his first interview since being jailed due to sexual assault charges. The comedian in locked up in a prison in Pennsylvania and did the interview with Black Press USA via telephone. The 82-year-old was very open about his experience in prison and issues plaguing the black community.

In the interview, the topic of his parole hearing came up and Cosby doubled down on his claim of innocence.  He had this to say about parole “When I come up for parole, they’re not going to hear me say that I have remorse. I was there. I don’t care what group of people come along and talk about this when they weren’t there. They don’t know.”

Although Bill Cosby is in jail, he is making the most of his time by serving as an educator to his fellow inmates. Cosby speaks to inmates weekly through the Mann Up program. During the interview, he shared how much he enjoys speaking to the man and that he feels he’s in the right place.
Bill Cosby Aint Sorry About-1

America’s dad is now a convicted felon and if you grew up in the ’90s that sucks. For black people, Cosby represented an anti stereotype and a positive role model. Now he is classified as a “sexually violent predator”. The details behind his case are murky but sexual assault accusations from as many women who accused Cosby make it difficult to argue he is innocent.

Maybe Cosby is innocent in this particular case as he states but he already admitted his guilt in others,  if Karma exists, this is what it looks like.

What do you guys think should Bill Cosby be remorseful?

Star Wars-Return of the Nostalgia?

Potential Star Wars Rebrand

Star Wars as a brand has slowly lost its way these past few years. If you grew up in a certain time, some of the things you probably did after school were watching the Star Wars VHS tapes. Or you played Battlefront on the PS2. As of late however, the recent movies and games that have come out have just seemed like money grabs instead of a good story.

The Dilemma

The Last Jedi left a sour taste in a lot of fans mouths as  left theaters utterly dissapointed. And when EA decided to add constant in game purchases for Battlefront II, gamers that grew up on the original Battlefront series were driven away. But within the Past Few months, Disney and EA have been listening to our voices, and have released projects that have gotten back to Star Wars’s roots.

NCAA Disciplines James Wiseman

NCAA Disciplines James Wiseman

The NCAA recently disciplined James Wiseman, who is currently a freshman at the University of Memphis. Wiseman is predicted to be one of the highest if not the first overall pick in the NBA’s draft next season. But this does not mean he can avoid dealing with the NCAA’s rules just yet.

Wiseman has been suspended by the NCAA for a total of 12 games. Along with this, the NCAA has required that Wiseman donate $11,500 to a charity of his choice. These punishments are a result of two violations of NCAA rules committed by Wiseman or related to him.

Apparently Wiseman Committed Two NCAA Violations

The first violation has to do with Wiseman’s family receiving $11,500 from Penny Hardway. This amount was given to Wiseman’s family to help deal with the costs of moving from Nashville to Memphis in 2017. During this time Hardway was the coach of Team Penny and the East High School basketball team. Wiseman played for both of these programs at the time.

This act became a violation of NCAA rules because Hardway donated $1 million to the University of Memphis in 2008, resulting in him being considered a booster for the program. In the spring of 2018 Hardway became the head coach of Memphis. In the fall of that year, Wiseman announced his commitment to playing at the University of Memphis.

The second violation has to do with Wiseman playing in a few games at the beginning of this season. The NCAA informed the University of Memphis that Wiseman was ineligible to play, but technically this is only a strong suggestion. With the support of the university Wiseman suited up and played for the University of Memphis’s first 3 games this season.

NCAA Disciplines James Wiseman-1

Is Wiseman At Fault?

Many people are left wondering what Wiseman did that was so wrong. In regard to the situation of his family receiving money from Hardway, it would seem that Wiseman had no knowledge of this occurring. It does not necessarily seem all too fair that Wiseman is being punished for something which he never knew even took place.

Although it may not have been the best call to play in 3 games for the University of Memphis, Wiseman did so with the encouragement and blessing of his team. It really isn’t all too odd that a player would take the advice of his team and coach.

Is The NCAA’s Punishment Fair?

As a result of these occurrences, the NCAA is requiring Wiseman to donate $11,500 to a charity of his choice. Wiseman has until the end of his last season with the university to pay this amount. Due to his immense talent, Wiseman will almost undoubtedly be declaring for the upcoming draft. This does not give him all too much time to come up with that amount of money.

Although the NCAA has posed this scenario as Wiseman donating to a charity of his choice, in reality, that is not what is taking place. Instead, this is simply a tactic implemented by the NCAA in order to fine Wiseman. Currently, NCAA players are unable to receive any pay from the university they attend. With his focus set on playing basketball Wiseman does not have time to come up with that amount of money.

What do you guys think though? Did James Wiseman do anything wrong? Is the NCAA just finding loopholes to fine players, and if so how ethical is this? Leave your opinion or thoughts in the comment section.

NFL To Blame For Failure of Kaepernick’s Workout?

0

Kaepernick’s workout doesn’t go as planned

Is the NFL to blame for the failure of Kaepernick’s workout? Colin Kaepernick was supposed to hold a workout in front of 25 NFL teams this past Saturday, November 16th. This ended up not going to plan. Originally the NFL had set up for the workout to take place in the Atlanta Falcon’s stadium. Kaepernick and his representatives decided to change the location of the workout soon before it was supposed to begin.

The new location was 60 miles away and resulted in personnel from only 8 teams attending the event. Kaepernick claims changing the location was due to a lack of transparency on the NFL’s part. This can be seen by a number of things.

Originally Kaepernick’s agent, Jeff Nalley, was informed that the NFL would provide a list of the personnel who would be in attendance. A few days before the scheduled workout the NFL informed Nalley that they in fact never agreed to provide the list. Kaepernick also felt there were issues with the waiver that the NFL proposed to him.

NFL To Blame For Failure-1

Was the NFL giving Kaepernick a real chance?

Many wonder if the NFL was even giving Kaepernick a legitimate shot to return to the league. When it came to the terms of the workout the NFL seemed to create multiple unnecessary inconveniences for Kaepernick.

The fact that the workout was scheduled for a Saturday in itself was an issue. Many NFL teams and personnel are either traveling or preparing for their game on Sunday during this time. Whereas a workout on a Tuesday, when all NFL teams have off, would allow for more people to attend. This issue was only furthered by a last-second change of locations for the workout due to a denial of media and an extra crew to film the workout.

Was the NFL just trying to gain fans?

Some might feel Kaepernick is to blame for the lack of success resulting from this workout. But others are left questioning the NFL’s true intentions. Is it possible that the NFL never even intended for this to be a real opportunity for Kaepernick to enter back into the league? Instead, people feel that the league was simply attempting to gain back fans who stood with Kaepernick’s decision to neal and get a final reason to not allow him back in the league.

What do you guys think though? Is the NFL to blame? Was the league never even giving Kaepernick a real chance in the first place, or did Kaepernick lead to his own downfall?

Can The Sixers Become An Offensive Threat?

How Will This Untraditional Roster Perform?

Will the Sixers be able to become an offensive threat this season? So far this season the Sixers are off to an alright start, having a record of 8-5. They currently have the 5th best record in the Eastern Conference, but there is still much room for improvement. The team seems to be fine in terms of defensive abilities, but many wonder if their current roster will be able to perform offensively.

The NBA is an offensive driven league now more than ever. When one looks at the Sixers roster this is not necessarily something that comes to mind. This can be seen by the fact that their starting point guard is 6-foot-10 and lacks any type of shot outside of the paint.

The moves made by the Sixers this off-season only go to further the possibility of offensive issues. The team lost big offensive threats this summer including Jimmy Butler and J.J. Reddick, an elite 3-point shooter.

In an effort to deal with these losses the team signed Celtics power forward and center Al Horford. Along with this, the Sixers signed Tobias Harris to a 5 year $180 million contract. This struck many people as odd due to the fact that these players aren’t necessarily considered significant offensive threats.

Can The Sixers Become-2

Will The Sixers Be Able To Gain Chemistry?

Although Horford shot an impressive 38.2 percent shooting from the 3 while with the Celtics, since joining the Sixers this number has dropped to 31.6 percent. It would seem Horford is struggling to find a good fit playing along such an elite center like Joel Embiid.

Another glaring issue in terms of the team’s performance and chemistry is the constant issue of turnovers. During head-coach Brett Brown’s time in Philadelphia, the team has either ranked 29th or 30th overall in turnovers, besides last year where they ended being ranked 25th.

Sloppy play and a lack of chemistry have led to the problem of a high-rate of turnovers continuing into the 2019-20 season. The sixers are currently averaging 17.5 turnovers per game, and rank 28th in the league.

Can The Sixers Turn Things Around?

The Sixers have been struggling offensively due to things such as a lack of quality chemistry, but is there time to turn things around? The season has only just begun, and that means there is a lot of time for them to improve. How do you feel the Sixers will end up doing this season? Will the Sixers become an offensive threat or will these woes continue throughout the rest of the season?

Dame Dash Arrested For Not Paying Child Support!!

0

Hip Hop Mogul Dame Dash was arrested in new york for warrants due to not paying his child support!!!

Dame Dash went to court to try to pay his child support debt off bu still got arrested. The roc-a-fella founder had 2 warrants out for his arrest about his child support payments. Dash has been in the news lately because he been crying broke to get out of his payments.Dame Dash Arrested-1

The hip-hop legend had one warrant dating back to 2015 after a judge ordered him to pay over $60,000 to his baby mom Cindy Morales. The other warrant came last year when he was ordered to pay another $340,000. The second payment was to his other baby mom Racheal Roy.

Dash allegedly showed up to the courthouse to pay off the debts but before he could finish the deal he was cuffed and booked.  The former record exec paid about a million to settle one of the warrants.  Yet, as he was on his way to pay the other he was stopped by the cops.

He was arrested and processed but didn’t sit in jail for too long.

He was able to post bail and pay off the other past-due child support bill to be released. Dame also took the time to clear up the fact that he is not having any money problems. Telling reporters “Ain’t no money Problems” as he was being taken into the police district.

This is the opposite of what Dash said in legal documents filed earlier this month. In the documents, Dash said that his income was “virtually nonexistent” and asked the judge to lower his child support payments. He went on to say his only income is from producer lee daniels payments from a 2 million dollar debt. However, he said that because his earnings are being garnished those payments aren’t helping him.

It’s kinda crazy that earlier this year Jay-z was announced as the first rap billionaire and his ex-partner is being arrested for money problems. Roc-a-Fella was once the biggest label in rap at a time and Jay and Dame were two of the most respected names in the game. Guess we know who did better without the other.

What do you guys think about Dame being arrested? is he as broke as he says he is or just trying to get out of his responsibilities.

Wheres the Beef? Burger King Being Sued

MAN SUES BURGER KING OVER MEATLESS BURGERS

Today in the southern district of Florida Phillip Williams opened a class-action lawsuit against Burger King. Williams claims he follows a strict vegan diet and was tricked into believing that burger king’s Impossible burgers were 100% vegan.

After purchasing an impossible burger. Williams realized that the vegan burgers were cooked on the same grills as the regular beef burgers made. The store has yet to respond to the allegations. Even more, Phillip William is asking burger king to return all profits earned through the promotion and sales of its impossible vegan burger.

Burger King introduced the Impossible burger in the summer of 2019. In an attempt to profit off of the vegan trend and add healthy food to its menu. The fast-food chain decided to adopt the meatless burger.Impossible Burger

The Impossible burger helped grow burger king sales by 5%.

Creating the largest quarterly jump for burger king since 2015. Because of this, the store had announced it would begin launching meatless burgers across Europe in November 2019.

Furthermore, class action suits will undoubtedly slow the plan to bring meatless burgers beyond America to Europe. Phillip Williams was not available to comment on his claim. However, Williams is expected to give a statement in the near future.

The fact that the meatless burgers were cooked with regular burgers is a problem. The question is what damages can be claimed in because of this. Although, some religions are against cross-contamination of food. Being Vegan is not a religion. rather a life choice. This is expected to be a long-drawn-out legal process that may ultimately end in a low payout.

What do you guys think about the impossible burger? is it still vegan even though it’s cooked on the same grill?

Carmelo Anthony Gets Another Chance In The NBA

0

Carmelo Anthony Signs With The Trail Blazers

Carmelo Anthony gets another chance in the league. Anthony received a call from the Trail Blazers on November 13th where he was offered a position on their team. League sources claim that Anthony signed a one-year veteran minimum contract, valued at $2.1 million, with the Blazers. Anthony is set to make his debut with the Blazers against the New Orleans Pelicans at 8 tonight.

Anthony is no stranger to the NBA. At one point he was one of the league’s top scorers, having a career average of 24 points per game. Along with this, he was a 10-time all-star during his time in the NBA.

Carmelo Anthony signs with the Trail BlazersWhat Will His New Role Entail?

Throughout much of Carmelo Anthony’s career, he was the leader or main scoring option for his team. This is something that took a quick turn for him when the 2018 season began. After signing a one-year contract with the Houston Rockets he only ended up playing in 10 games. For 8 of these 10 games, Carmelo was coming off the bench.

This was not a role that Anthony had anticipated taking part in. Due to this, he parted ways with the Rockets. Carmelo has not played in the league since this occurred in November of 2018. This has left many people wondering what Carmelo’s role with his new team will be.

Can He Still Compete At A High Level?

Not only are people left wondering what Anthony’s new role will entail, but many question how well he will be able to play. After scoring over 20 points for the entirety of his career in his last two seasons he averaged a career-low of 16.2 and 13.4 points per game.

After reaching the Western Conference Finals last year the Trail Blazers have struggled to perform this season. So far they are off to a 5-9 start. Along with this, the Blazer’s frontcourt is lacking depth due to injuries of players such as Zach Collins and Jusuf Nurkic. This will allow Carmelo to have a bigger role with the team and showcase the skills he still has.

Carmelo Anthony gets another chance in the league, but how will he be able to perform? Will Carmelo be able to contribute to his new team? Or will he struggle to fit in this role such as he did with the Houston Rockets?

[UPDATE] Carmelo Started for the blazers and scored 10 points in his debut. He still showed his scoring touch but the rust was evident.

Dave East Removed Kodak From His Debut Album

Kodak Didn’t Make The Final Cut for Dave East’s Album

Dave East removed Kodak Black from his album, Survival, which was released on November 8th. Kodak Black was set to have a verse on the song “Night Shift”. This verse did not end up making the final cut of the album.

In a recent interview with Big Boy TV. East claimed that Kodak’s remarks about Lauren London were what led to the removal of his verse. Dave East was not just a fan of Nipsey Hussle’s music, they were actually quite close friends.

East claims to have no issues with Kodak but felt he could not have a clear conscious allowing his verse to stay on Survival. Furthermore, East claimed that it just wouldn’t feel right to have Kodak featured on the album while having songs such as ‘The Marathon Continues’ that speak of Nipsey.

Dave East Removed Kodak

Sadly in March of this year rapper, Nipsey Hussle was killed in a shooting in Los Angeles.

Shortly after this took place Kodak Black shocked several people with comments he made about the recently deceased rapper’s wife, Lauren London. While on Instagram live Kodak claimed that he would, “be the best man I can be for her.”

After seeing how many people took offense to these remarks Kodak took to Instagram live to give an apology. Kodak claimed that, “If I disrespected Lauren London in any shape or form, I am sorry. Even though I know I didn’t.” A number of people felt this apology was not very genuine, such as rappers T.I. and The Game.

What do you guys think about Dave East removing Kodak’s verse? Was Kodak Black’s apology genuine or did he go too far with the remarks he made about Lauren London?

Meth? South Dakota Says It Is On It

0

South Dakota is on Meth! At least that’s what the state’s new Anti-Drug slogan is!!!

Meth. Were on it! that is South Dakota’s new slogan for their Drug Awareness Campaign. The slogan is designed to address South Dakota’s “meth crisis”. Monday saw social media making fun of the slogan as twitter users had a field day with the line.

In a video that kicked off the campaign people both young and old are seen saying “I’m on meth” while looking into the camera. In campaign posters, people are photographed doing everyday tasks with the slogan “Meth. We’re on it” written into the picture. South Dakota Says-1

The idea behind the campaign is for it to act as a rallying cry to South Dakota residents. Instead of meth just being a problem for individuals and their families, it is a problem for the whole state to tackle. South Dakota Governor Kristi Neom is spearheading the campaign and has defended it amid the recent backlash.

In a statement, Noem has said. ” The mission of the campaign is to raise awareness –to get people talking about how they can be part of the solution and not just the problem,”. Apparently, the strategy is working. Both people in and outside of the state of South Dakota know they have a serious meth issue.

Furthermore, the fact that the campaign cost taxpayers nearly half a million dollars is an issue.

Noem stands behind her decision and feels South Dakota will change the way this country “combats addiction”. If the campaign doesn’t get the results needed to justify its price tag people will suggest maybe Noem is really on Meth.

While this campaign is a little odd and off the books. The approach is appreciated for trying something different. Meth is one of the most addictive/dangerous drugs out there and causes harm to families and communities rapidly when introduced. The fact that the governor is willing to take such a risky move is a sign she actually does care.

What do you guys think about the Meth “we’re on it” campaign? is it too much or exactly what’s needed to get people’s attention.

Registration

The minimum information we need to register you is your name, email address and a password. We will ask you more questions for different services, including sales promotions. Unless we say otherwise, you have to answer all the registration questions. We may also ask some other, voluntary questions during registration for certain services (for example, professional networks) so we can gain a clearer understanding of who you are. This also allows us to personalise services for you. To assist us in our marketing, in addition to the data that you provide to us if you register, we may also obtain data from trusted third parties to help us understand what you might be interested in. This ‘profiling’ information is produced from a variety of sources, including publicly available data (such as the electoral roll) or from sources such as surveys and polls where you have given your permission for your data to be shared. You can choose not to have such data shared with the Guardian from these sources by logging into your account and changing the settings in the privacy section. After you have registered, and with your permission, we may send you emails we think may interest you. Newsletters may be personalised based on what you have been reading on theguardian.com. At any time you can decide not to receive these emails and will be able to ‘unsubscribe’.
