Nicki Minaj is back in her home island of Trinidad for Carnival and is giving the country a show. She recently preformed her new verse on Machel Montano and Destra’s Shake the place for the trinidad carnival crowd.
She showed off her incredible custom outfit and it went down a storm with her fans. She wore a purple curve-hugging body suit styled by Diandre Tristan, accompanied by fishnet tights and white sneakers.

After a sabbatical, Nicki Minaj hopped on a plane and flew to her home country of Trinidad for the Carnival celebration. She met with her local heroes, Machel Montano and Destra Garcia, who she co-wrote “Shake the Place” with.
The sultry, curvy soca singer performed to the crowd and shared high-energy footage of her performance on social media. In the video, the Young Money rapper dances and showcases her talents in a custom outfit by local designer Natalia Carimbocas.
Her look was coordinated with a pair of flesh-toned fishnet stockings, Louis Vuitton Archlight Sneakers, and her long black hair was pulled back in a chic ponytail. She also wore a coordinating headpiece with icicle-like attachments framing her face.

Her husband, kenneth petty, was also seen wearing a similar teal outfit. Despite their public relationship, he has a criminal past with a conviction for attempting to rape.
Kenneth Petty has a history of sexual assault and was convicted in 1995 for first-degree attempted rape. His criminal history has led to criticism of his relationship with Nicki Minaj, who has defended her husband against critics.
Jennifer Hough, a woman who claims she was raped by Kenneth Petty in 1994, recently spoke out about the harassment campaign she faced after her claim against the rapper. She says she was offered varying amounts of money if she signed a statement recanting her allegations against the singer.

The 40-year-old rapper is clearly enjoying her time on the island and repping her local roots in the process. She has been a big fan of Caribbean music and opened doors for many artists while in her native land.
As part of her Carnival celebrations, she preformed her new verse for Machel Montano and Destra’s hit track “Shake the place.” She shared footage of her performance on Instagram and dubbed it the most thrilling moment of her visit.
