Nicki Minaj’s $20 million Hidden Hills estate is at risk of being seized and sold after the rapper and her husband, Kenneth Petty, allegedly failed to pay a $503,000 court-ordered judgment stemming from a 2019 assault case involving a security guard in Germany.
The case traces back to an incident during Minaj’s concert in Frankfurt, Germany, on March 22, 2019. Thomas Weidenmuller, a security guard working the event, filed a lawsuit against Minaj and Petty in January 2022, claiming he suffered severe injuries after being attacked by Petty backstage.
According to court documents, the confrontation began when a fan breached security and climbed onto the stage. Although the situation was quickly handled, Minaj allegedly berated a female security guard, calling her a “f—ing b-tch” and recording the encounter. When Weidenmuller stepped in to defend his colleague, tensions escalated. He alleges that Minaj threw a shoe at him, and that Petty later struck him in the face during a backstage meeting — an attack that left him with a broken jaw requiring eight surgeries and five metal plates.
After Minaj and Petty failed to respond to the lawsuit, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lynne M. Hobbs entered a default judgment against the couple on March 22, 2024, ordering them to pay $503,318.02. Weidenmuller had initially sought over $750,000 in damages for medical expenses, emotional distress, and long-term injuries.
The debt has since grown due to accrued interest. By October 2025, the total amount owed — including legal fees and enforcement costs — exceeded $503,000, with no payments reportedly made.
On October 6, 2025, Weidenmuller’s legal team filed a motion to seize and sell Minaj’s Hidden Hills mansion to satisfy the outstanding judgment. The 11-bedroom, 16-bathroom estate, purchased by Minaj in December 2022 for $19.5 million, is now appraised at approximately $20 million.
The court filings note that, even after accounting for the property’s $13.25 million mortgage and a $722,000 homestead exemption, Minaj retains roughly $6 million in equity—far more than the amount owed.
Weidenmuller’s attorneys claim they’ve made multiple unsuccessful attempts to collect the judgment since April 2024, including attempts to serve Minaj and Petty at their gated residence and levy notices sent to several of Minaj’s business affiliates, including Apple, UMG, Capitol Records, and Live Nation.
In their latest filing, Weidenmuller’s lawyers accused Minaj of “refusing to pay despite numerous written demands,” emphasizing that with an estimated net worth between $150 million and $190 million, the rapper is “highly capable of satisfying the judgment in full.”
The Hidden Hills case adds to a string of recent legal troubles for the couple. Minaj recently revealed on Instagram that her American Express card was used fraudulently, with over $25,000 in unauthorized charges made by three individuals. She stated that police reports were filed and that “they’re all going to jail.”
Petty, meanwhile, continues to face legal scrutiny related to his 1995 attempted rape conviction and status as a registered sex offender. His ongoing civil case with Jennifer Hough — who accused the couple of harassment and intimidation — remains in mediation.
The judge has not ruled on Weidenmuller’s motion to force the sale of Minaj’s property. Neither Minaj nor Petty has publicly addressed the filing, and Minaj’s legal team has not issued any official statements.
If approved, the court-ordered sale would mark one of the most high-profile property seizures involving a celebrity in recent years, potentially forcing the Grammy-nominated rapper to part with her multimillion-dollar estate.
