Madonna is back in the spotlight, and this time she’s gearing up for a music comeback in 2025. The pop icon recently took to Instagram to share her excitement about working with producer Stuart Price, who was integral in her critically acclaimed album Confessions on a Dance Floor. The announcement sent the fans into overdrive, speculating what the result of this collaboration may be.
But in a heartfelt post, Madonna revealed just how artistically rejuvenating the creative process has been. She said, “Working on new music with Stuart Price these past few months has been medicine for my SOUL.” That means more than she is excited; it means something toward the music—a connection much closer to herself.
”Songwriting is highly personal for her: she finds freedom and empowerment there. The songwriting and making of music is the one thing where I don’t need anyone’s permission, and that’s so exciting to share with you,”
she said.
This will all be a big moment, though, for her fans who have been waiting a bit since Confessions on a Dance Floor, generally said to be one of the best albums her, debuted in 2005. It included songs like “Hung Up” and “Sorry,” all hits still good today. Since then, she has worked on music, including an album called Madame X in 2019 and the recent Celebration Tour in 2023.
Since Confessions on a Dance Floor, Madonna’s musical growth has taken a more experimental approach and one of personal introspection. After that album, new genres were tried out with albums like Hard Candy and MDNA, incorporating hip-hop into contemporary pop production.
Rebel Heart took her to more personal matters when she reflected upon love, loss, and empowerment. Madame X represented an eclectic sound that reflected social concerns and, of course, pop music’s roots.
In getting back to work with Stuart Price for the new music, there’s excitement in the air as to what they will come up with. Their previous collaborations thrived on a playful dynamic that allowed for spontaneity, a hallmark of their successful partnership.
