Chicago rap star Lil Durk continues his reign in the music industry. With his highly anticipated The Voice album finding major success, he has officially declared that the deluxe version will come out on January 29th. As The Voice features verses from hot shots Young Thug, 6lack, YNW Melly, and Booka600, you better believe that the deluxe edition will have an even crazier roster of features.
This release is more than on time considering the untimely death of Durk’s “twin” and best friend rapper King Von, who was gunned down outside of an Atlanta lounge in November. These two Chicago emcees had an inseparable bond that will continue beyond death. Durk is making sure Von’s legacy lives on in many different ways. One way being that he has him featured on on the biggest song off the project “Still Trappin”. The two have a musical chemistry that magically bounces off of each other in a sonically pleasing way. Adding Von to his sixth studio album was a no brainer.
Lil Durk Released The Voice Album in November
As the OTF rapper is currently nominated for two Grammy Awards for he and Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later”, The Voice deluxe edition, will further his influence on the music business and music consumers. It was reported recently that Durk is now charging 200k a show, to perform in front of a live audience. After receiving various comments from spectators, the Chicago native clarified things with a tweet: “I’m going offline until my deluxe drops in a couple of days… I’ll show you all why I want 200k a show #THEVOICE.” It’s evident that Durk values his worth as an artist and seeks respect for his name once he releases his work.
