Kim Hill, Old Black Eyed Peas Member Speaks
Kim Hill, a former member of Black Eyed Peas, reacts to will.i.am’s statements on Wyclef Jean’s “Run That Back” podcast.
Furthermore, the group leader went on to say the group was no longer considered a “black group” following their 2004 success. Fergie replaced Hill at the time. Former member Kim Hill took to Instagram to clap back on will.i.am’s comments.
will.i.am expressed that it’s a bit hurtful that Black Eyed Peas is not seen as a Black group anymore due to their international success. He shared this sentiment during a conversation with Wyclef Jean.
Hill Expresses Why She Spoke Up
Hill addressed why she chose to chime in on the conversation started by will.i.am.
“I rarely ever speak on the issues Re: my history with @bep But since the interview Re: the lack of support from the Black Community. Re: BEP has gone viral, and so many of my supporters are blessing my name… It’s only befitting,” Hill said.
Also, Hill is confused about why the Black Eyed Peas can claim that the Black community didn’t accept them. In fact, they turned their back on a Black woman. The claim is a slight contraction.
“You’re not connected to those Black roots anymore. So, I don’t get why you’re ignoring the Black girl in your group and only talking about the Black community not embracing you in 2004.”
Hill Preaches Love for BEP and will.i.am
Regardless of her separation from the group, Hill says she followed them and has great respect for Will.i.am.
