Arizona Cardinals CB Jeff Gladney died in a car accident on Memorial Day, May 30. The crash occurred around 2 A.M., and two people, a male (Jeff Gladney, 25) and a female (Andrea Mercedes Palacios, 26), were confirmed dead at the scene by Dallas Fire-Rescue.
This NFL offseason has been tough. Both Jeff Gladney and Dwayne Haskins lost their lives in car accidents. The crash involving Gladney’s white vehicle occurred when it was clipped by another vehicle, causing it to lose control and hit a beam on Woodall Rodgers Freeway in Dallas. Sadly, Gladney didn’t survive.
Agent Brian Overstreet requests prayers and privacy for the family during this difficult time. The Cardinals and Vikings expressed their deep sorrow over Jeff Gladney’s passing.
Jeff Gladney’s Journey in the NFL
The Minnesota Vikings drafted him in the 2020 NFL Draft’s first round. Unfortunately, the team released him after an assault indictment, but he was later cleared of the charges. In March, the Arizona Cardinals signed him, impressed by his potential to bolster their defensive backs.
Jalen Reagor, his college friend and current Philadelphia Eagles player, was deeply saddened by the news. They were former teammates at TCU, and he recently tweeted:
“Lost my brother, my closest friend, my trusted companion… Can’t handle much more, damn! Rest in peace, Jeff Gladney. Brother, please watch over me.”
