Footage of Mo3’s 2020 I-35 Shooting and Chase by Alleged Killer Now Released

Nearly five years after the tragic killing of Dallas rapper Mo3, whose real name was Melvin Abdul Noble Jr., newly released footage has brought fresh attention to the violent events of November 11, 2020. The video, made public in 2025, shows Mo3 being chased and shot on Interstate 35 in Dallas, offering a chilling glimpse into his final moments. This release has stirred public interest and shed light on the ongoing legal battles tied to his death.

The incident took place just after noon on November 11, 2020, as Mo3 drove northbound on I-35E near Clarendon Drive. Reports state that a dark-colored vehicle, believed to be a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro, pursued him. Mo3 stopped his car in the center lane of the highway, and a man, later identified as Kewon Dontrell White, got out with a rifle. As Mo3 tried to escape on foot, White opened fire, fatally wounding the rapper. An innocent bystander caught in the chaos was also shot but survived with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Mo3, a 28-year-old artist gaining fame for tracks like “Errybody” with Boosie Badazz, died at a nearby hospital. Dallas police called the attack “brazen” due to its boldness in broad daylight on a busy road, sparking an intense investigation.

The surveillance video, released in 2025, captures the lead-up to the shooting. It shows Mo3’s car being tailed by another vehicle before he halts on the highway. White exits the trailing car, rifle in hand, and approaches Mo3, who tries to run but is quickly gunned down. Though the footage is not crystal clear, it starkly illustrates the violence that unfolded.

The timing of this release, years after the event, has sparked curiosity. Some believe it could strengthen the prosecution’s case as trials loom for those accused in Mo3’s death.

Three men have been tied to the murder, facing a mix of federal and state charges. Here’s a breakdown of their roles and where they stand today:

Kewon Dontrell White: Named as the gunman, White was arrested on December 9, 2020. He pleaded guilty in May 2022 to a federal charge of possessing a firearm as a felon, earning a 105-month (roughly 8.75-year) sentence. His state murder trial is still ahead, and he remains in federal prison.

Devin Maurice Brown: Charged with murder on April 22, 2021, Brown is believed to have helped plan the attack, possibly over a personal dispute involving Mo3. He pleaded guilty in June 2021 to federal drug and gun charges, and though his exact sentence isn’t public, he’s likely incarcerated. His state murder case is pending.

Yella Beezy (Markies Conway): On March 20, 2025, rapper Yella Beezy was arrested and charged with capital murder-for-hire for allegedly paying White to kill Mo3. Indicted two days earlier by a Dallas County grand jury, he’s being held on a $2 million bond, awaiting trial.

The legal process is tangled, with White and Brown serving federal time while their state murder charges wait. Yella Beezy’s recent arrest adds complexity, hinting at a murder-for-hire plot. No civil lawsuits from Mo3’s family have surfaced publicly, possibly due to a focus on criminal justice or unreported settlements.
