It all went down on May 18, 2025, when Arkansas State Police pulled Jaaybo over on Interstate 40 in Pope County. A search of his car turned up marijuana, some unidentified pills, $8,379 in cash, and a Glock pistol fitted with a machine gun conversion device—stolen from California, no less. These discoveries led to heavy federal charges: possession of a machine gun tied to drug trafficking, being a felon with a firearm, and moving a gun across state lines while under indictment. If convicted, especially on the machine gun charge, he’s looking at a mandatory minimum of 30 years in prison.
Jaaybo’s fighting back, pleading not guilty, and is currently locked up at the Pope County Detention Center. His trial is set for late July 2025, and the hip-hop community is holding its breath to see what happens next. This isn’t his first run-in with the law, either. Back in March 2025, he got nabbed in Stockton for drugs, ammo violations, driving without a license, and breaking probation, but he was out on bond by mid-March. Before that, he spent over a year in San Joaquin County Jail for illegal gun possession, only getting out in February 2025.
The timing of this mess couldn’t be worse. Jaaybo was slated to hit the stage on NBA YoungBoy’s Masa Tour, kicking off September 2, 2025, but his arrest got him yanked from the lineup. That’s a gut punch for a rapper who just earned a spot on the 2025 XXL Freshman Class, with “Boogieman” racking up over 116 million streams on Spotify. Fans are buzzing on X, where posts about his possible 30-year sentence are blowing up, sparking worry and support for the young artist.
