Shocker: The spicy tea was the main course on a recent episode of Melyssa Ford’s podcast, “I’m Here For The Food”! From there, the episode – titled “Chicks Before D*cks” went left when Ford spilled on quite a different type of love triangle involving her fellow guest Tyra (former model Toccara Jones) and none other than Drake.
The scene played out as Ford was telling what appeared to be a benign little exchange with Jones. Jones told them they were dating the same person and Ford replied, with impressive chill, “Knock yourself out.” A detail that sparked her to dish an even juicier exposé and lead with the bombshell revelation she had confronted Drake after it happened;

But the episode wasn’t about pinning them against each other or turning it into a catfight. Ford and Jones stated their friendship meant more to them than any kind of romance even with a music superstar. This maturity in identity shown through their bond, gave perspective to people that were listening.
Ford waited until the end of that loud, spirited version for finally mentioning it and a chorus throughout the podcast collectively gasped at hearing its name. The mystery man? Drake himself. This news even took such that their own co-host, Blue Telusma was left without words I have to try.
Though the circumstance was awkward, both women were gracious toward Drake. They said he was honestly just a great guy to them and that they could do this modern dating landscape while still being able have good vibes outside. Their grown-up perspective is a refreshing antidote to the usual drama-fueled celebrity stories.
The episode has gone viral, with outlets like Capital XTRA, HotNewHipHop and The Source all picking up the story. The only thing that listeners seem to care about is the candid conversation in this episode, and how important it even more so of a message than ever before: true friendship romantic competition.
