Drake’s Father Says He’s Not Trolling Kanye With His New Song Featuring a Kim Kardashian Sample

The feud between Drake and Kanye West has been brewing for a while. It’s not the first time that Drizzy has thrown some shade at his US counterpart and now he seems to have poured fuel on the fire with his new song. Drake’s father, however, claims that Drizzy is not trolling Kanye with his new song which features a sample from Ye’s ex wife Kim Kardashian.

The Canadian rapper premiered his new tune called ‘Rescue Me’ on SiriusXM’s Sound 42 this weekend and it features a line which is set to get Ye’s back up. It’s a sample of Kim Kardashian discussing her divorce from Kanye and the line goes: “I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy,” she says part way through the track.

    Is Drake getting shady again?

Fans immediately thought that this was a trolling move on Drake’s behalf but the rapper’s father has now stepped in and said that this is not the case at all.

Dennis Graham, Drake’s father, posted a screenshot of the song and wrote: “I have never done anything like this. I will never do this again.”

According to TMZ, Graham is set to land a reality show that will be about his life and search for love. He also wants to explore the lavish lifestyle he’s been living for years.

If you haven’t heard of him, he’s an award-winning singer/songwriter, actor and record producer. He’s known for his hits “Duppy Freestyle,” “Hotline Bling” and “The Motto.”

His latest album Certified Lover Boy was released last Friday, and it appears that several of the lyrics on the record appear to take aim at West. One particular track, “7AM on Bridle Path,” is full of references to the home address incident that caused the singer to call Kim a “double/sleeper agent.”

It was only months after the pair split that Kanye told DJ Khaled on ‘Drink Champs’ that they had smoothed things over and had a “friendly reunion.” But now he appears to have taken a step back from the whole affair and is still quite upset with Drizzy.

    Social media quickly responded

So, it’s no surprise that his latest album has prompted an uproar from Drake fans. But he hasn’t gone as far as some would have hoped.

The Canadian rapper’s newest single “Rescue Me” has been leaking for a while now, and it’s already stirred up some controversy. The track features a sample of Kim Kardashian talking about her divorce from Kanye and it’s causing some people to believe that the sample is a jab at West.

In fact, it’s the exact same line that was used on “Drink Champs” when West accused Kim of spying on him and comparing her to North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un.

He reportedly told ‘Drink Champs’ that he’s not trying to be mean but he just felt like he needed to throw a bone to his old friend.

And while it’s no secret that their feud isn’t exactly over, it’s a relief that Drizzy has not gone as far as some people have feared. But he still has a lot of work to do.
