Drake’s Dad Speaks Out After “Not Like Us” Wins Record of the Year at the Grammys

Dennis Graham Responds to Kendrick Lamar’s Sweep Dr. Graham, Drake’s dad, gave a direct but tactful reaction to Kendrick Lamar’s sweep at the 2025 Grammys. Asked about Lamar’s “Not Like Us” record, a diss record, taking record of the year, Graham shared with social media personality Joy of Everything, “I don’t care nothing about that s—. That ain’t nothing about me. Best of luck to him, man. I don’t do that bulls—.”

His reaction comes in the midst of controversy between his son, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar, whose longstanding feud continues to rock the hip-hop universe. Most everyone saw a reaction of one kind or another coming from Canadian rap legend and/or his inner circle, but Graham’s statement appears to say that he doesn’t have any part in all of that drama.

The Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud: a smoldering rivalry For years, tension between Kendrick Lamar and Drake simmered, but with “Not Like Us,” it reached a boil. The diss track, full of cutting accusations, took direct shots at Drake, even at one point suggesting improper behavior in its accusations.”Not Like Us” then started being a rallying cry for feud, generating buzz with insiders and enthusiasts in a big, big manner.

In response to its fall and salacious accusations, Universal Music Group (UMG) sued Drake, a case for libel having been filed against him. In its case, UMG actively endorsed the single in its hurtful accusations, an accusation UMG disputed, citing its continued support for Drake’s career.

Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Grammys Victory Kendrick Lamar took a big win at the 2025 Grammys, taking five trophies for “Not Like Us” in categories including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video. It was a big win for Compton’s best, re-affirming its king in rap.

Despite the controversy surrounding its record, its success could not be questioned. Lamar’s performance at the Grammys earned him widespread acceptance, with establishment leaders such as Dr. Dre praising its accolade for him. Dr. Dre, a long-time mentor of Lamar’s, comes in to defend record, stating that it was actually Drakes’ past accusations regarding Lamar’s family that motivated him to record it in the first place.

Drake’s Silence and Next Ventures In fact, a feud is not yet a public issue, and neither have publicly addressed Lamar’s Grammys wins. Instead, both have focused on future ventures, including a long-rumored collaboration album with PartyNextDoor, ” $ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” with a Valentine’s Day drop date

Additionally, Drake is preparing for his 16-stop “Anita Max Win” tour in Australia and New Zealand. Kickstarting in Perth and concluding in Auckland, the tour will most assuredly be a spectacle for fans, with anticipation that he will include new singles off of his album in the sets.

The hip-hop community is still at odds with one another over the feud, with part of them regarding “Not Like Us” as a cultural moment that re-established Lamar’s throne, and part of them believing that a legal reaction and career prioritization will one day reverse the narrative. With both rappers appearing no wiser, the question is: will Drake react in a musical, legal, or simply move-on manner? As everyone in the industry waits with anticipation, one can say for certain – that rivalry is not yet over.
