DDG’s Ex-Worker Exposes Halle Bailey’s Custody ‘Smear Plan’

The paternity battle between singer and actress Halle Bailey and rapper DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) is one of the hottest celebrity courtroom dramas of 2025. Central to the controversy is their 20-month-old child, Halo Saint-Granberry, and whether or not to split custody with accusations, restraining orders, and growing public attention.

Bailey, known for her role in The Little Mermaid, and DDG, a rapper and YouTuber with millions of followers, began dating in 2022 but separated in October 2024. Their child Halo was born last December 2023.

In May 2025, Bailey filed for full legal and physical custody, alleging domestic violence. A California judge issued her a temporary restraining order and temporary custody. DDG denied the abuse allegations and quickly filed his own motions, including a request for protection and shared custody.

Since then, both parents have accused one another of harmful behavior. Bailey alleged physical and verbal abuse, including incidents in front of their child. DDG countered, saying Bailey threatened self-harm and restricted his access to Halo.

In June, Bailey asked the court for exclusive custody as she prepared to travel to Italy for filming. DDG attempted to block the travel but was denied; instead, the court allowed him supervised visitation with Halo.

During an August 2025 custody hearing, a claim surfaced online from someone identifying as DDG’s former employee, “Johnny.” In a video posted to X, Johnny alleged Bailey fabricated elements of her filings as part of a “smear plan” to win full custody.

The high-profile nature of both parents has made the case a trending topic online. Fans of Bailey and DDG have taken sides, often amplifying unverified claims. Legal experts warn that “trial by social media” risks distorting public perception before courts reach formal rulings.

Bailey herself once talked about shielding her personal life from publicity, citing that she maintained her own pregnancy a secret to avoid scathing online criticism.

Disputes over custody in America are usually determined by “best interests of the child.” As per U.S. Census Bureau statistics, joint custody is awarded in 51% of custody suits, with 29% granting primary custody to mothers and 9% to fathers. Restraining orders and accusations of abuse are also carefully considered by courts prior to rendering final judgments.

Both Bailey and DDG currently have temporary restraining orders against one another. Bailey holds temporary custody, while DDG has limited supervised visitation. A comprehensive custody hearing is expected later in 2025, where the court will decide long-term arrangements.

Meanwhile, the public will keep a watchful eye as one of Hollywood’s most sensational custody battles plays out as lawyers advise followers to keep facts separate from speculation on social media sites.
