Chrisean Rock is stepping into the ring.
The rapper and reality TV star announced on December 23 that she has begun boxing training at Fortune Gym in Hollywood, signaling her intention to pursue a professional career in the sport. Photos shared on Instagram stories show Rock sparring in full headgear and gloves inside the famed facility, which has long been associated with elite fighters.
The update quickly gained traction on X, surpassing views within hours and sparking a wave of reactions across social media.
Fortune Gym is a historic boxing space founded by Justin Fortune, the renowned strength and conditioning coach who worked closely with Manny Pacquiao for much of his career and also trained fighters such as Mike Tyson. Fortune passed away in April 2025, but the gym continues to operate under his legacy, with veteran trainers carrying on his methods. While early social media posts suggested Rock was training directly with Fortune, she is understood to be working with the gym’s current coaching staff.
Rock’s move into boxing follows a turbulent few weeks that kept her in the headlines. In mid-December, videos of her involvement in a physical altercation at a community prayer event in Compton went viral, with clips showing her defending herself during the incident. Shortly afterward, Rock announced during Instagram Stories and a Kick livestream that she planned to go pro in boxing, initially naming Ryan Garcia as a potential trainer.
Footage from Garcia’s livestream on Dec. 16 showed the former WBC interim lightweight champion lightly sparring with Rock. While the session appeared controlled, it underscored the difference between street fighting and professional boxing technique.
By Dec. 23, Rock’s training appeared to have taken a more formal turn. Additional videos shared online show her doing pad work, footwork drills, and sparring rounds in a professional gym setting, suggesting a more serious commitment than earlier sessions.

Reaction online has been mixed. Some fans praised her athleticism and focus, encouraging her to channel her energy into a structured sport. Others questioned her consistency, pointing to her history of sudden career pivots and ongoing custody disputes involving her son with Blueface. Several comments also raised concerns about her long-term stability, referencing past legal issues and substance abuse allegations. However, there is no scientific consensus linking rapid career changes to recovery outcomes.

As of now, Rock has not announced any official fights. To compete professionally, she would need to apply for a boxing license through a state athletic commission and begin building a sanctioned record.
