More than seven years after his untimely death, Nipsey Hussle’s estate has been successfully settled, with the late rapper’s brother and business partner Blacc Sam growing its value from an initial estimate of roughly $2 million to approximately $11 million before distributing the assets to Hussle’s children.
According to court documents, the Grammy-nominated artist — born Ermias Asghedom — died intestate in March 2019, leaving his two children, daughter Emani Asghedom (now 17) and son Kross Asghedom (now 9), as the sole beneficiaries. The pair will each receive a 50/50 split of the estate, which includes cash, business interests, real estate, intellectual property and other assets.
Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, who has served as executor of the estate since shortly after his brother’s passing, petitioned the court with an early valuation around $2 million (with some filings noting up to $4.2 million for the formal probate estate). Under his administration, the estate appreciated significantly through continued operation and expansion of Hussle’s key ventures, including The Marathon Clothing brand, trademark protections, music catalog revenue, merchandise and strategic investments. Recent filings value the estate at an estimated $11 million.
The distribution, approved by the court in July 2026, marks the end of a protracted probate process complicated by guardianship disputes, creditor claims and trademark litigation. Emani received her share directly, while Lauren London, Kross’s mother, signed off on his portion. Exact amounts paid to the children remain sealed, as is typical in matters involving minors.
Blacc Sam, a longtime collaborator who co-founded All Money In and helped build The Marathon Clothing, has focused on preserving and expanding his brother’s vision of ownership and community empowerment. He has placed business assets into the children’s names or trusts, aiming to foster generational wealth in line with Hussle’s “All Money In” and “The Marathon Continues” ethos. The family continues to manage The Marathon brand — which has expanded with new locations and partnerships, including Marathon Burger — alongside the Nipsey Hussle Foundation’s community initiatives in South Los Angeles.
Hussle, who rose from the Crenshaw streets to become a respected voice in West Coast hip-hop with projects like Victory Lap, was fatally shot outside his Marathon Clothing store on March 31, 2019, at age 33. His death reverberated across the music industry and beyond, highlighting his impact as both an artist and entrepreneur dedicated to Black ownership and economic development in his community.
The resolution of the estate provides a measure of closure while ensuring Hussle’s businesses and legacy assets remain positioned for continued growth. Blacc Sam has repeatedly emphasized building sustainable ownership for the next generation, turning personal tragedy into a foundation for long-term impact.
