The Nipsey Hussle legacy is being carried on in his brother, Blacc Sam, who just opened Marathon Burger, a new restaurant, on 7507 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The new restaurant is an offshoot of The Marathon, which Nipsey originally founded as a clothing line.
Marathon Burger is more than a business, it is a dedication to Nipsey Hussle and his entrepreneurial drive and principles. Blacc Sam reports that opening a business, a burger joint, was a dream Nipsey and his best friends shared. “Something we always thought about doing together,” shared Sam recently. “It is about uniting people, opening doors, and keeping my brother’s spirit alive in a different sort of way.”
The new location is in line with Nipsey Hussle’s commitment to empowering community through business and economic empowerment. With this new opening, The Marathon continues its expansion beyond its South Los Angeles roots, now reaching new people in one of Los Angeles’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
Marathon Burger provides an excellent variety of options for all different diets, such as tiger shrimp and mushroom burgers. The flagship of its menu, though, is its signature Marathon Burger. This is composed of two patties of Wagyu beef, which is joined by Fresno peppers and a secret sauce. Apart from its signature meals, Marathon Burger recently introduced an exciting partnership guaranteed to thrill fans. With a collaboration between Marathon Burger and Nickleodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants, the restaurant introduced its fictionalized version of the Krabby Patty in anticipation of its anniversary of being on television for 25 years. The partnership is a fun and nostalgic element of the meal experience, differentiating it in a saturated LA dining market.
Being situated on vibrant Melrose Avenue, which is well-known for its arts, dining, and fashion, Marathon Burger is a prime location for The Marathon brand. The eatery is situated here in a bid to reach a large customer base, all while maintaining its rich heritage in South LA.
“This is not about serving a meal, it is about making a space for people to come together, think, and celebrate culture,” Blacc Sam asserted. “We want to continue pushing the Marathon message, challenging people to continue reaching for greatness.”
Marathon Burger is in operation daily, Mondays to Saturdays, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., and is open till 10 p.m. on Sundays for a wider number of visitors. The grand opening is making a big splash, attracting Nipsey Hussle enthusiasts, gourmands, and locals in LA who wish to patronize this new eatery.
