The city’s multicultural cuisine is among its greatest assets and brings casual diners and connoisseurs alike to Chicago.

Chicago’s musical heritage is second to none, particularly with respect to blues and jazz. The city drew 671,000 foreign visitors during the summer months alone, with 3.4 million room reservations in June and August. The tourism surge translated to $940 million in revenue at hotels and $53 million in taxes paid to the city government, making it a full-fledged economic giant.

The leaders of the city have designated this historic milestone. Governor JB Pritzker had some words of praise regarding Chicago’s resilience: “Chicago is still a beacon of culture, of innovation, and of diversity—a city that opens up to welcome the world.” Mayor Brandon Johnson had some words to say as well:

“Chicagoans knew that their city was second to none, and now we have yet another fantastic honor to verify it.”
