Influencer Gracie Bon Says She’s in GTA 6, Releases Body Scan With Rockstar

Gracie Bon, a 29-year-old Panamanian plus-size model and body-positivity influencer with 11.9 million Instagram followers, lit up gaming X on Sunday with a video captioned “my body scan, can’t wait for GTA 6 on November 19th. thank you @rockstargames for making one of my biggest dreams come true. this is for all the gorditas in the world, we are finally being included in the BIGGEST game ever 🙏🏼.” Within roughly 24 hours, the post had picked up more than 64,000 likes and 2,000 replies, according to engagement metrics surfaced by X’s syndication endpoint. Then the Community Notes hit.

Bon uploaded what she said was a screenshot of a direct message from Rockstar Games’ Instagram account, asking her to discuss bringing her “likeness” into Grand Theft Auto VI through a 3D body scan, followed by a 40-second clip of herself in a motion-capture suit with a measuring tape in hand, according to a Sunday writeup by Where Is The Buzz. The rumored DM text — “Hey Gracie! We’ve been tracking your growth and viral moments over the past few years. We would love to have your unique body inside the world of GTA6” — is the same template that has circulated through fake-influencer recruitment posts for months, Yahoo’s coverage of the episode noted.

X’s Community Notes pinned two flags to the post. The first: “This is not a DM from Rockstar as Rockstar won’t contact via DM’s. This is a fake DM Trend editing a photo that can be easily done,” pointing readers to Reddit threads documenting the template. The second, attached to the video itself: “This entire video is AI. Gracie Bon is using this as a subliminal way to advertise her OnlyFans, which is against X TOS.” The fake-DM-and-AI-image playbook is the same one security researchers flagged earlier this year across Discord drops, phishing sites, and impostor creators. Rockstar has offered zero public confirmation, denial, or comment.

Bon, born February 4, 1997, in Panama City, has spent the past five years building a public profile around lipedema awareness, body positivity, and unapologetic curvy representation, according to her own Instagram bio and her earlier HypeFresh coverage of plus-size travel struggles. She lists 11.9 million Instagram followers under @graciebon, 401,000 on a second @graciebon account, and runs an OnlyFans under the handle @graciebon1. She has openly discussed brand work with Fashion Nova Curve and her lifelong experience with lipedema, a chronic condition that causes abnormal fat accumulation in the legs and lower body.

Her timing, of course, was tuned. Rockstar dropped its 27-minute “Extended Look” gameplay preview on Netflix on August 27, then on YouTube six hours later, with the November 19, 2026 PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S launch locked in and pre-orders already open at $79.99, according to the Take-Two Interactive investor relations release. In that climate, any claim of inclusion becomes rocket fuel.

What Rockstar has actually confirmed about bodies in the game is narrower than Bon’s post suggests. A senior-staff interview published by Dazed and republished by Dexerto on August 26 confirmed that protagonists Jason and Lucia will visibly gain weight, lose weight, and build muscle based on the food players feed them and the gym work they put in, with sleep deprivation and “multi-day benders” showing up in their faces. NPCs, the studio said, will display a much wider range of ages, heights, body types, tattoos, piercings, plastic surgery, and fashion choices than any previous Rockstar game, with the San Andreas weight-and-muscle system returning as a spiritual backbone. Those systems are real. A specific influencer body scan for Gracie Bon is not.

When Rockstar does pull from real people for face or body capture, it does so through formal casting channels under non-disclosure agreements — not through public Instagram DMs and self-shot videos. The pattern of creators manufacturing attention by faking brand partnerships is not new to 2026: the IED-survival hoax earlier this summer ran the same template — viral video, plausible-but-unverifiable claim, late-stage public unraveling.

The episode says as much about the current attention economy as it does about the game. In the final stretch before a cultural behemoth like GTA 6 arrives, the gravitational pull is irresistible. Influencers, streamers, and brands all try to attach themselves to the orbit. The Verge’s coverage of the Extended Look rollout captured the same gravitational pull from the publisher side: pre-orders, exclusive Netflix debuts, and leak-driven marketing all running in the same week. Some of those attempts stick. Most get noted, questioned, and quietly filed under “unverified.”

As of Monday morning, Gracie Bon’s body scan remains in that second category. The dream she described may still be real for her. Rockstar’s own August 26 statement to fans about leaks, gameplay spoilers, and the November 19 launch said nothing about Gracie Bon. The official connection to Rockstar, so far, is not.
