A father’s quick thinking turned a midnight intrusion into a swift arrest, saving his daughter from potential danger right under his roof.
Late on April 29, 2025, in the quiet town of Moreland, Georgia, a dad reviewed his home security footage and froze at seeing a man scaling the wall toward his 16-year-old daughter’s bedroom window. Without hesitation, he dialed 911, alerting Coweta County deputies to the break-in at the family’s Carroll Street home.
Officers arrived within minutes and searched the house, zeroing in on the girl’s closet where they found 25-year-old Austin Raymond Sweatman crammed inside, clad only in boxer shorts. The Newnan resident, who stands about 5 feet 10 inches and weighs around 160 pounds, offered no resistance as deputies took him into custody on an initial charge of criminal trespass.
Digging deeper, investigators uncovered a troubling history between Sweatman and the teen, including a cache of sexually explicit photos the pair had swapped on their phones.
