Yesterday morning in Marietta, Georgia just outside Atlanta a 20-year-old woman walked into a gun store called TruPrep with a little dog trotting behind her. She asked to see a Canik pistol, the clerk cleared it and handed it over like they do every day, and thirty seconds later she had it jammed in her waistband and was sprinting for the door.
A guy in a black shirt turns out he’s a former Marine and part-time sheriff’s deputy vaulted the counter like it was nothing, closed the gap in about two seconds, and absolutely planted her with a tackle right in front of the exit. The gun went sliding across the tile, the dog went skittering in circles, and the whole thing is on crystal-clear silent surveillance footage that’s now all over X and Instagram.

People are losing their minds over how clean the takedown was. Zero shots fired, zero hesitation, just a textbook rugby tackle and zip-ties. The Marine reportedly looked at her afterward and said,
“Next time steal something nicer.”
The store owner posted on Facebook:
“Someone thought we were running a ‘grab-a-gun’ special. Didn’t work out.”
She’s charged with felony theft (in Georgia anything over $500 is a felony, and a handgun definitely clears that bar). Bond is $5,000, first court date December 5. Some gun-site reports say she’s homeless; police haven’t confirmed that part yet.
The clip is spreading like crazy tens of thousands of views already with the usual mix of “hell yeah” comments, memes, and a few people adding dramatic music, and a smaller thread pointing out the dog looked terrified and maybe we should talk about mental health and homelessness instead of just cheering the hit.

Point is, the event is 100% real, the tackle worked, she’s in jail, and nobody got shot. Also a reminder that in American gun stores it’s completely normal to hand a customer an unloaded pistol to look at, which still blows the minds of pretty much every other English-speaking country on earth.
As of Saturday morning there’s no new official statement from Marietta PD or the store. Just a whole lot of people hitting replay on that tackle.
