Vanessa Bryant shared on Instagram some of the feelings she is experiencing since losing her husband and daughter!
Jan 26, 2020, is a day many people will never forget, Vanessa Bryant is definitely one of those people. On that fateful day, the California native lost not only her husband Kobe Bryant, but also their 13-year-old daughter Gigi.
The 37-year old widow and mother of four has been fairly quiet since the passing of Kobe and Gigi.
On Monday though the young widow took to Instagram to share some of the emotions she’s been feeling.
I’ve been reluctant to put my feelings into words. My brain refuses to accept that both Kobe and Gigi are gone. I can’t process both at the same time. It’s like I’m trying to process Kobe being gone but my body refuses to accept my Gigi will never come back to me. It feels wrong. Why should I be able to wake up another day when my baby girl isn’t being able to have that opportunity?! I’m so mad. She had so much life to live. Then I realize I need to be strong and be here for my 3 daughters. Mad I’m not with Kobe and Gigi but thankful I’m here with Natalia, Bianka and Capri. I know what I’m feeling is normal. It’s part of the grieving process. I just wanted to share in case there’s anyone out there that’s experienced a loss like this. God I wish they were here and this nightmare would be over. Praying for all of the victims of this horrible tragedy. Please continue to pray for all.
In her post-Mr.s Bryant spoke of how her brain “refuses to accept that both Kobe and Gigi are Gone”. She goes on to articulate the difficulty of processing losing her husband and young daughter at the same time.
Vanessa Bryant adds that she is “Mad”, but knows she has to be strong for her remaining three daughters.
You have to respect Vanessa for sharing her thoughts so publicly. People around the world have been mourning her husband and daughter, and the 8 others who lost their lives today. Something that probably doesn’t make the grieving process any easier. It is also important to note that she acknowledges that her family is not the only one to suffer a loss that day.
May the Bryant family and the families of all those involved in the crash find peace.
