Trump Explodes on Charlamagne Tha God, Calls Him ‘Racist Sleazebag’ in Fiery Rant

The radio personality targeted Trump’s record and the Epstein controversy, and the former president didn’t hold back.

Charlamagne Tha God has never been one to mince words — and now he’s in the crosshairs of Donald Trump.

The Breakfast Club host, whose real name is Lenard McKelvey, sparked a wave of headlines over the weekend after a pointed appearance on My View with Lara Trump, a Fox News show hosted by Trump’s daughter-in-law. During the segment, — and floated a controversial theory that struck a nerve in MAGA world.

Asked to rate Trump’s time in the White House, Charlamagne said bluntly:

“I wouldn’t give it a good rating simply because the least of us are still being impacted the worst.”

But it was his comments about the Republican Party and the ongoing controversy over the Jeffrey Epstein files that lit the match.

“There’s a political coup going on right now in the Republican Party that people aren’t paying attention to,”

Charlamagne said.

“I think this Epstein thing is going to be a way for traditional conservatives to take their party back.”

He didn’t stop there, adding,

“They know this is the issue that has gotten the base riled up… and for the first time, they know they can probably take their party back and not piss off the MAGA base.”

It didn’t take long for Trump to respond — and in typical Trump fashion, he held nothing back.

In a heated Truth Social post early Sunday morning, the former president called Charlamagne a “racist sleazebag” and a “low IQ individual,” blasting the radio personality for daring to criticize him.

“He has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth,” Trump wrote. “And knows nothing about me or what I have done.”

Trump also aimed at Charlamagne’s stage name, questioning,

“Why is he allowed to use the word ‘GOD’ when describing himself? Can anyone imagine the uproar there would be if I used that nickname?”

Doubling down, Trump listed what he described as his accomplishments — “ending 5 Wars,” “closing the horrendous open Border,” and “creating the greatest economy” — before dismissing Charlamagne as “a dope” and mocking him for supposedly supporting “Sleepy Joe or Kamala.”

Trump’s outburst comes at a sensitive moment. In July, the Justice Department announced it would not release more documents related to Epstein’s sex trafficking case — despite Trump previously promising transparency.

The reversal has stirred deep frustration among many MAGA loyalists, especially those who hoped for bombshell revelations involving elite figures. Now, with trust cracking in parts of Trump’s base, the Epstein issue has become a political flashpoint.

Never one to back down, Charlamagne clapped back on Instagram, posting a screenshot of Trump’s rant along with the caption:

“President Trump would have been better off targeting Urkel because he’s really scraping the bottom of the barrel by coming after me.”

He added:

“You can’t transition from figures like MLK Jr., President Obama, Oprah, and Beyoncé to a sleazebag named Lenard.”

During his Fox News appearance, Charlamagne also floated the idea of Jon Stewart running for president in 2028 — with Stephen Colbert as his running mate. He acknowledged benefiting personally from Trump-era tax cuts but criticized policies that “take away Medicaid from people.”

Charlamagne, who has interviewed both Trump and Kamala Harris in past election cycles, made it clear that his criticism crosses party lines.

“I gave President Biden the same hell,” he said, “when he wasn’t doing what I felt needed to be done.”

The fiery exchange underscores the increasingly tense dynamic between Trump and media figures willing to challenge him — especially when it comes to hot-button topics like the Epstein investigation. As the 2026 election season heats up, battles like this may show how raw — and personal — the political discourse could get.
