YouTube and TikTok star Malik Taylor, 28, died on August 20, 2025, when his SUV exited a road and fell approximately 20 feet in Concord, North Carolina, police confirmed. First responders pronounced Taylor dead at the scene, and the death was due to multiple blunt force injuries, the North Carolina Medical Examiner determined.
There was no sign of foul play, according to the Concord Police. Officials said alcohol was a suspected contributor but toxicology results are pending.
Taylor, who was born in the month of July in 1997, gained fame as an internet personality for his hilarious “POV” videos, pop culture analysis, and down-to-earth narratives. On TikTok and Instagram, he gained close to 300,000 fans, while he had another 80,000 subscribers for his YouTube show, “The Unpopular Party.”
Prior to content creation, Taylor was a schoolteacher but converted to full-time influencers in the year 2023. Taylor graduated from the Austin Peay State University in the year 2020. She was a joyous member of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity.

Recently, he posted to fans that he had moved from Memphis, Tennessee, to Charlotte, North Carolina, explaining he was looking for
“a new beginning and new experiences.”
On one of his last TikTok entries, Taylor mused on the move, noting,
“sometimes you have to say goodbye to the familiar in order to grow into who you are supposed to be”
Police responded to a crash around 7:48 a.m. near Lapis Lane in Concord. According to their report, Taylor’s 2016 Nissan Rogue left the roadway, dropped roughly 20 feet, and overturned at the bottom.
Emergency crews arrived quickly but were unable to revive him. Cabarrus County EMS confirmed Taylor’s death at the scene.
“Based on our initial findings, there’s no indication of foul play. At this stage, alcohol is suspected, but we are awaiting toxicology results before drawing conclusions.”
Concord Police spokesperson Lt. Andrea McNally said in a statement.
The news of Taylor’s death has prompted an outpouring of grief from his family, fraternity, fellow creators, and followers.
In a statement, the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity described Taylor as
“a light to everyone—always bringing laughter, joy, and a warm smile.”
The group said,
“His commitment to brotherhood and community will never be forgotten.”
Kendall Holloway, Taylor’s cousin, has confirmed his death and called for a minute silence in his tribute, stating, “Malik was so much more than a creator; he was family to so many. His energy illuminated every room he entered.”
Fans flooded social media with tributes. One user on X wrote,
“He just moved to Charlotte, ready for a fresh start. My heart hurts.”
Another added,
“Not to be all parasocial, but Malik Taylor’s death is really making me sad today.”

Social media influencers are now utilizing his death to increase road safety. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recorded 42,795 motor vehicle fatalities in 2024 while citing the danger of distracted or impaired driving.
