Washington artist Tonty has released her empowering new track, “Narcissus Poeticus,” all about toxic self-love.
“Narcissus Poeticus” displays Tonty’s ability to incorporate her distinctive vocals into the chill and well-structured atmospheric instrumentations as she talks about the struggles of being an independent artist who has to repeatedly self-promote without help or support from anyone.
Tonty had a chat with us and answered our unique 4 Questions. Check it out below.
HYPEFRESH: Introduce yourself by sharing your name, age, and where you’re from, as much or as little as you’d like.
Tonty: My name is Tonty (Ton-tee). I’m 26, from the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.
HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new single, “Narcissus Poeticus”?
Tonty: My new single is my inner thoughts on my toxic self-love. I wrote it from being tired of self-promotion and positive reviews about myself. As artists, we have to talk positively about ourselves and our work, but it can be emotionally tiring when we’re the only ones doing it.
HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?
Tonty: I love being able to say something with music. Sometimes, I can only figure out how I feel by singing it.
HYPEFRESH: How can our readers follow you online?
Tonty: I’m @tontyheartbeat on all social media, or you can visit my website tontymusic.com
