The New York Rangers Proving the World Wrong!

In the most recent game, the New York Rangers dominated the reigning champs Tampa Bay Lightning, 6-2. However, many have Lightning dominating this series due to their superior talent. The Rangers seemed to be on a mission coming off handing the Carolina Hurricanes only lost at home during Game 7. This was especially impressive after they came back to beat the Hurricanes in the series down 2-0.

Game One Takeaway for the New York Rangers

The Rangers have continued to prove to the world that they are the hottest team in the NHL. In the first game against the Lighting, it featured two of the premier elite goaltenders. However, it was the offense that rose to the occasion more than initially intended. In the Eastern Conference Final, the Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin stopped 37 of 39 shots which is just unheard of. This Ranger team is loaded from top to bottom. While they may not have the biggest stars in NHL as a team. They’ve proven to be a force to be reckoned with. It’s no secret they’re the hottest team in hockey, this only goes to show that sometimes it’s not about the better team but just the hottest team. Both these teams are talented, however, one team seems to be playing with a different type of fire lit under them.

After the game was tied 1-1, Rangers center Frankl Vatrano seemingly took the game over contributing offensively and defensively. In the midst of saving a goal and being put in a two-on-one situation. Only seconds later, he took a shot over Vasilevskiy’s to give the Rangers the one-goal lead. From this point on, the Rangers begin to snowball into victory.

    Game Two Takeaways

The Rangers have managed to escape Game two, 3-2, according to ESPN. Rangers HC Gerard Gallant was extremely impressed with how the Rangers handled the pressure and managed to come out with the win. He emphasized in order for them to win this series they will have to play with the same tenacity and grit as they’ve done throughout the playoffs thus far.

“We’re thrilled with the victory, but we’re already preparing for the next one,” stated Rangers coach Gerard Gallant. “We need to keep up the same level of play from the last two games if we want to win the series. Our goal is to fight hard, compete fiercely, and prove that we’re a formidable opponent.”

The biggest takeaway is that the Rangers have to continue to apply pressure and play at a fast pace and wear the Lightning down as the game goes on.
