Florida rapper Syko Bob, signed to Kodak Black’s Sniper Gang label, is officially back in the public eye after serving roughly four years of a five-year sentence for gun possession and related charges.
The South Florida rapper, whose real name is Cambrel Smart, was arrested in early 2022 on weapons and drug-related charges. As a prior felon, he pleaded guilty to a gun possession charge in December 2022 and was sentenced to five years in prison the following March. He was released in early February 2026.
Just days after his release, Syko Bob made headlines again — this time for a heartfelt proposal to his longtime girlfriend.
The clip captures a highly stylized proposal sequence. Outdoors, his girlfriend steps from a black SUV onto a red carpet, surrounded by heart-shaped balloons, some spelling “Marry Me.” The scene then transitions indoors, where Syko Bob presents a bouquet of red roses, gets down on one knee, and offers a ring. The couple embraces in celebration, marking a joyous reunion after years apart.
Fans quickly flooded the post with reactions. Many praised the couple’s loyalty, highlighting the girlfriend’s dedication throughout Syko Bob’s incarceration. Others expressed skepticism, questioning whether a long-distance relationship could truly endure years of separation — a conversation frequently reflected in rap culture narratives about prison-tested relationships.
Syko Bob’s connection to Kodak Black’s Sniper Gang label also adds context to his story. Kodak, who has faced his own legal battles, has a track record of spotlighting and supporting affiliated artists, helping them maintain visibility through legal setbacks. Syko Bob’s return and public proposal fit within the label’s broader narrative of loyalty, redemption, and resilience.
While the rapper’s post-prison proposal is already viral, it also serves as a reminder of the personal side of hip-hop, where triumphs offstage often carry as much weight as those onstage.
