Soulja Boy Blasts 21 Savage for Backing Metro Boomin

Rapper Soulja Boy, best known for his 2007 summer smash “Crank Dat,” has taken to social media to express his dissatisfaction with fellow artists Metro Boomin and 21 Savage. The argument, which has been around for years, was initiated by a tweet from Metro Boomin dating back to 2012.

In 2012, well-known producer Metro Boomin took to Twitter to express his thoughts. In the tweet, he stated: “My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy. Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.” While the above statement may appear harmless to many people, Soulja Boy did not take it lightly since being compared to Jeezy made him seem inferior.

On the other hand, Soulja Boy responded to the old tweet by posting a vitriolic Instagram video referencing his chart-topping hit “Crank Dat,” saying,

“That was 2007. I had a No. 1. What are you talking about, Metro Boomin? You were excited about going to the studio with Jeezy. “Stop playin’ with me ngga, I had a number one ngga in 2007, ngg. When I was 17 fck ngga. You were still in elementary school, btch-a** boy. You was in middle school, boy.”

Soulja Boy didn’t stop there. He demanded that Metro Boomin delete the tweet, stating,

“Delete that tweet p*ssy-a** n*gga.“You got 24 hours f*ck n*gga, on my mama. If I wake up tomorrow, n*gga and that muthaf*ckin’ tweet aint deleted n*gga. Y’all n*ggas want to drop whole albums dissing n*ggas and sh*t, right? Alright bet, n*gga. Let the games begin. I know how to diss too, n*gga. My [mixtape] is dropping Friday, n*gga.”

Soulja Boy has said the most about how he feels, but 21 Savage has not yet responded to his latest rant. He also expressed his displeasure with 21 Savage for not joining the conversation over the Kendrick Lamar and Drake feud he recently used the latter’s lyrics when Drake told Metro Boomin to “shut your ho ass up and make some drums” on their song “Push Ups.” 21 Savage responded with a short: “Or what.”

The beef worsened as yet another rapper, 21 Savage, sided with Metro Boomin. Soulja Boy expressed his frustration in a series of Instagram stories and video messages, verbally attacking 21 Savage and promising him a beat down. Moreover, he took a shot at Savage’s name, emphasizing that he is a British national rather than a rapper from Atlanta. “You btch. You not from the A you from the UK,” he said. “I’ll really slap the sht out you 21.”

This current feud is an appropriate example of how personal disagreements and public disputes can take over the creative process. However, it is also a good show of how hard these artists are willing to go through to deliver the best brand in terms of lyrics and music to their fan base. Soulja Boy is talking a whole lot at the moment, with 21 Savage yet to reply to his latest rant. Fellow artists, as well as fans, are waiting to learn exactly what he intends to do next.
