Sophie Rain Fires Back at Pete Davidson for Mocking Millionaire Influencers

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Sophie Rain, the 22-year-old OnlyFans creator, stepped forward Saturday as the woman behind the “$40 million a year” figure Pete Davidson mocked on camera, answering the comedian with a 75-second video and a challenge: if the work is really that easy, “he should go do it,” as she told the New York Post.

Davidson, 32, lit the fuse Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Variety’s “Ask a Local” segment on YouTube. He complained that women influencers film “get ready with me” videos and TikTok dances for enormous sums, saying, “Girls are just talking to themselves on there and they’re like, ‘Okay, come get ready with me,’ and I’m like, ‘Who the f–k are you? What do you do? Nothing.'” He put their earnings at “$40 million a year,” called that proof “the world’s broken,” then joked that he thinks once a week about launching his own page featuring “soft c–k” content so he could retire.

Rain’s first swing was small. She commented “@ me next time” under an Instagram clip of the interview, the Post noted. Her second landed Saturday night on X, captioned “”who tf are you” hi Pete i am Sophie Rain,” and it has drawn more than 7,000 likes according to the post’s X syndication data.

“Telling you guys some facts about myself since Pete Davidson said, ‘Who the f–k are you?’ My name is Sophie Rain, and yes, I am the girl who made $40 million in a year for doing nothing.”

Sophie Rain, in her response video

The rest of the video, transcribed by Yahoo, read like a job description written for one reader in Staten Island. “You have to post every single day without fail or your views are going to drop tremendously,” Rain said, explaining that her income comes from the subscription page, not the TikTok and Instagram accounts where she has millions of followers. “I used to work a 9-to-5 job as a server for three and a half years before doing social media,” she said. “Contrary to popular belief, being an influencer is a lot of work.”

In the same Post interview, published Saturday, Rain said the rant “sounded pretty targeted” and that Davidson should have skipped the generalities. “If you’re going to complain about girls making millions online, you might as well say who you’re talking about,” she said. She also could not resist one personal note: “Pete has never tried to date me or slid into my DMs. Maybe that’s why he’s so confused about what I do.”

“It’s easy to look at a 60-second video and say, ‘What does this person even do?’ when you have no idea what goes into building an audience or running a business online. I get that he’s a comedian, but the whole ‘these girls do nothing’ thing is just lazy.”

Sophie Rain, to the Post

Her sharpest line never named its target. “I thought Pete would know this after dating the most popular influencer in the world,” Rain said in the video, a nod to Davidson’s high-profile romance with Kim Kardashian.

The life she described was closer to a feed store than a feed. “I live full-time on a farm where I scoop cow s–t in my free time,” Rain said, part of a routine she shared with the Post in April while tending seven cows. She said she puts money into Team Water well projects, Feeding America and school supplies for teachers, causes that overlap with a Feeding America fundraiser she built around her birthday last year.

The number Davidson riffed on has a paper trail, if an unorthodox one. Rain joined the platform in 2023 after losing a restaurant job, and in November 2024 she posted a dashboard screenshot showing $43,477,695 in gross earnings between Nov. 28, 2023 and Nov. 28, 2024, the payday that first put her earnings on blast and that she later discussed with People. In January 2026 she screen-recorded her stats page showing $101,209,778.70 in all-time gross, coverage that marked her crossing $100 million, with Complex reporting the figure and her place in the top 0.01 percent of creators. All of the numbers are self-reported and unaudited, and they come before the platform’s cut and taxes.

Along the way she co-founded the Bop House, an eight-woman OnlyFans collective in Fort Lauderdale, with Aishah Sofey in December 2024. She left the group in July 2025.

Davidson, a former Saturday Night Live cast member who welcomed his first child with model Elsie Hewitt in December, had not publicly responded to the video or the interview through Monday, Oct. 6. Reaction elsewhere split along familiar lines, with one roundup of responses to the segment landing on a common verdict: “I can’t stand him but he has a point.”

The exchange also lands on an awkward fact underneath the joke. OnlyFans publishes no per-creator data, so the only receipts anyone can point to are the ones creators film themselves. That is how a comedian gets to wave at “$40 million,” and how a 22-year-old gets to wave back with a phone video and a dashboard. Rain’s closing argument went back to the craft. “I don’t think saying women are doing ‘nothing’ because you don’t understand their jobs is particularly clever,” she told the Post. “There are definitely better jokes.”
