Sauce Walka Breaks Down Why He Puts Rats and Snakes in the Same Group

Houston rapper Sauce Walka is the latest voice to join the ongoing debate surrounding Young Thug, and he didn’t hold back.

In a late-night post on X (formerly Twitter) on Aug. 29, Sauce Walka reacted to newly resurfaced interrogation footage of Young Thug by declaring that “snakes and rats” belong in the same category — a sharp rebuke aimed at those he believes are betraying the rap community. The pointed remark, part insult and part taxonomy lesson, spread rapidly across X, Instagram, and YouTube within hours.

In the post, Sauce Walka declared:

“Snakes & Rats are in the same group of the animal kingdom.. The scum of the jungle no HONOR AMONGST SNAKES & Rats.. Don’t try to switch to a spider now lol.. Ur snake skin already exposed.. Yall fans & kids still wanna be slimes ??? Or yall finally understand the message now!!”

The post came as clips from a 2015 police interview with Young Thug began circulating again online this week, reigniting fierce conversations in hip-hop circles about loyalty, accountability, and the stigma of “snitching.” Known for his fiery commentary, Sauce Walka seized the moment to call out what he sees as two-faced behavior, lumping “rats” and “snakes” together in a single critique.

Social media was quick to react. Fans and commentators reposted Sauce Walka’s message widely, while podcasts and YouTube channels dissected the leaked footage and the wave of rapper responses. Within hours, clip-and-reaction videos documenting the fallout began circulating, fueling the online firestorm.

Sauce Walka — a longtime fixture of Houston’s rap scene — has a history of outspoken commentary on industry controversies. Young Thug, meanwhile, has faced mounting scrutiny since the footage resurfaced, with debates over loyalty in hip-hop splitting fans and peers alike.

He doubled down on his point, writing:

“These the [people] y’all was idolizing and high-siding me over. Y’all seen the signs years ago and ignored it. Who’s lame now? TSF stood tall in the courtroom. Not one snitch and splat business.”

For him, it wasn’t about taxonomy — it was about loyalty.
