Sam Pepper, the British streamer and former Big Brother contestant, tracked down his biological father in Athens after more than 30 years and livestreamed a reunion that delivered little of the closure he appeared to seek.
Pepper, 37, has long spoken about growing up without his Greek father, who left the family when Sam was around five years old. Born Samuel Nicholas Pepper in Ashford, Kent, he has referenced the absence in streams and posts over the years. In late August 2026 he located the man in the Greek capital, approached him near a shop associated with him, and eventually sat down for a conversation that was captured in clips circulating widely online.
According to the footage, Pepper pressed his father on the decades of silence. “How long ago was that? 30 years, right? 30 years this was,” Pepper said. “So now you have 30 years you don’t think you can find me.”
His father replied directly: “No, no, no. I never. I say the truth now. I never going to try to find you.”
Pepper continued, noting that he had made the trip, spent time with him, and met extended family. The father acknowledged receiving updates and photos over the years from Pepper’s mother, describing her as “a good mother,” and said life had simply taken its course. “This is happened from the life. This is happened, life, life,” he said. “Life have his way going.”
The exchange grew more tense when the father’s current partner intervened, citing a language barrier and attempting to translate or mediate. Pepper pushed back, showing a childhood photograph and insisting the responsibility had never been his. “Is this someone a stranger?” he asked, holding up the image. “After that, I was a five-year-old child. … It’s not my responsibility to call someone. It’s not my responsibility to go somewhere. It’s not my responsibility to send an email or a letter. I’m a five-year-old child.”
Voices rose. The partner told Pepper not to raise his voice and that the conversation was not with her. Pepper responded that he had not come to fight and rejected any instruction on how he should feel. The meeting ended with Pepper walking away.

Others pointed to Pepper’s history of public controversies, including the 2014 prank videos that drew accusations of non-consensual contact and the 2025 incident in India in which a firework he launched during a livestream injured a young girl’s eye, leading to temporary platform bans.
Pepper later posted on his own account that he had finally found his Greek father after three decades, alongside a message encouraging those with supportive parents to express gratitude.
