Rosalind Brewer, New CEO of Walgreens
Distinguished businesswoman Rosalind Brewer has been named the new CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance.
In fact, the company released a statement on January 26 to confirm the news. Starting from March 15, 2021, she takes on her new role. The current CEO Stefano Pessina will become the Executive Chairman of the Board. This change means Brewer will be the new CEO of Walgreens and will also join the WBA Board of Directors.
The Spelman graduate is ranked at #27 on Fortune’s list of “Most Powerful Women in Business.”
Henceforth, Brewer is making history.
“The Board conducted a thorough search to find an outstanding leader who will continue WBA’s successful trajectory and capitalize on growth opportunities in various markets within the company. We are thrilled to have found Roz for this role,” said Pessina.
