    Dedicated Honors for Responsible Technology

The Webby awards introduced a new suite of dedicated honors this year recognizing work in responsible technology to inspire the community of creators and innovators to build more inclusive and responsible digital ecosystems. This includes a focus on AI, with OpenAI nominated for science website or mobile site and Heinz ketchup AI artwork campaign and Sherwin-Williams voice-activated AI color system vying for the award.

Both a philanthropist and entertainer, Megan Thee Stallion employs her substantial platform to denounce various forms of misogyny evident on the Internet and in mainstream media. From her impactful New York Times essay “Why I Advocate for Black Women” to spotlighting the tendency within Internet culture to undermine and mock Black women who bravely share their stories of abuse, she actively addresses these issues. Her mission is to ensure other women no longer feel compelled to endure suffering in silence. That’s precisely why we take pride in presenting Megan Thee Stallion with the 2022 Webby Special Achievement Award, recognizing her creative accomplishments and unwavering efforts to empower Black women in a world tainted by anti-Black sentiment and misogyny.
