Grammy-winning artist Bonnie Pointer knows as one of the “Pointer Sisters” has passed at 69 years old.
Founding member of the Pointer Sisters, Bonnie Pointer is dead from cardiac arrest at 69 years old. The famed singer achieved success as both a solo and group artist, having started singing in her father’s church.
Bonnie’s sister Anita announced via TMZ.
I’m deeply saddened to inform the fans of The Pointer Sisters that Bonnie, my sister, passed away this morning. Our family is devastated. On behalf of my siblings, the entire Pointer family, we kindly request your prayers during this time.
Anita Pointer described her sister as her “Best Friend” and someone she “never had a fight” with, in her entire life. The Pointer Sisters gained popularity in the early 1970s, starting as a duo and later expanding to a trio and quartet. Bonnie Pointer eventually pursued a successful solo career. Her song “Heaven must have sent you” reached as high as No. 11 on the Billboard charts.
Since her passing, stars have been expressing their love for Bonnie Pointer online.
