Playboi Carti Arrested For Choking His Pregnant Girlfriend

Playboi Carti is one of the most established rappers in Hip-Hop right now. But he’s also no stranger to controversy. This week, he was arrested in Georgia for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend following an argument over a paternity test.

According to TMZ, the woman said Carti grabbed her by the throat and pushed her. She claims he held her neck until she could barely breathe, and she believed she would die during the incident.

The incident happened on Dec. 20, and the victim told police she was 14 weeks pregnant.

Cops found visible injuries to her neck, chest, and back at the scene. She told them she had a witness at the scene who tried to de-escalate the situation and that Carti pushed her again when she escaped his grasp, according to TMZ.

She said he tried to pull her out of the car and placed his hand over her mouth when she attempted to use the vehicle’s SOS feature to call for help.

According to a Fulton County arrest affidavit, the Whole Lotta Red rapper was arrested for felony aggravated assault and hindering a person from making an emergency telephone call. He was released from jail on December 30.
