Remembering Dolph
The world suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Young Dolph in November. Dolph’s legacy endures through Paper Route Empire, a successful independent record label and video production company that nurtures a talented group of artists eager to continue their mentor’s vision.
Today, Paper Route Empire announces the upcoming release of “Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph,” a mixtape dedicated to honoring the memory of the label’s co-founder and CEO. The album, set to drop on January 21, will feature tracks from the entire PRE roster, including Key Glock, Jay Fizzle, Snupe Bandz, Big Moochie Grape, Kenny Muney, and more. Through this project, the label aims to pay tribute to the late Young Dolph.
Featuring “Long Live Dolph” Title Track
As part of the tape announcement, PRE presents the title track “Long Live Dolph,” a heartfelt single by Jay Fizzle, the artist with the longest tenure at Paper Route Empire. Backed by the rich harmonies of a gospel choir, “Long Live Dolph” reveals Jay Fizzle’s vulnerable side. The South Memphis native’s emotions are palpable as he reflects on his memories.
Fizzle delivers his verses over impactful piano chords and subtle percussion, sharing the lessons he learned from his mentor about music, life, and lyrics. He recounts how Dolph recognized his talent, lifted him from his difficult circumstances, and expresses deep gratitude for Dolph’s generosity and selflessness. Fizzle is determined to honor Dolph’s legacy, proclaiming, “Your face is inked on my back because you always had my back. You brought me out of the struggle, and I haven’t looked back since.” At moments when the emotions become overwhelming, the choir steps in, offering a verse that pays proper tribute to the King of Memphis.
