An investigation of the murder of up-and-rising Memphis rapper Sayso P, who performed under the name Latorian Hunt, took an unexpected twist. Both of the primary suspects identified in the case are now deceased under suspicious circumstances, and this contributes to the questions about the circumstances of the killing and the perpetrators.
A shooting on March 22, 2025, outside the Westin Memphis Beale Street Hotel claimed the life of 28-year-old rapper Sayso P. Houston rapper Sauce Walka, also known as Albert Mondane, was also injured. The authorities right away declared the shooting as targeted and launched an extensive search for the perpetrators.
Following the gathering of evidence and surveillance footage tracking, the Memphis Police Department identified the suspects as 22-year-old Kevin Brown and 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge. Warrants were issued against them, but officers were unable to arrest both the men before the case took an unexpected twist.
Jayden Dandridge was discovered deceased on the 31st of March 2025, within an abandoned warehouse in Houston, Texas. Reports from law enforcement show that Dandridge had been shot multiple times and his death was certified as a homicide. The investigators are currently exploring whether his murder was linked to the killing of Sayso P or whether it was retaliatory.
MPD confirmed the death of Dandridge five days after he was identified as a suspect in Sayso P’s murder, adding another twist to an already complex case. Social media rumors late that evening claimed that the case’s second suspect, Kevin Brown, had also been found dead. Official statements as of April 1, 2025, however, indicate Brown remains at large and an active arrest warrant remains against him on counts of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, use of a firearm while committing a dangerous felony, and theft of property between the value of $10,000 and $60,000.
Neither confirmed or denied by officials, Brown’s death is made all the more enigmatic by the timing of the rumor. Alive, he would remain an active fugitive and high priority target of law enforcement.
One of the suspects is deceased and the other’s status is unclear as officials from both Memphis and Houston are working to untangle the complexities of this case. MPD is searching Kevin Brown and also investigating whether or not Dandridge’s death was the result of gang violence, revenge, or an insider.
Anyone having information about Brown’s whereabouts is requested to step forward, officials warning he is armed and dangerous.
