Mia Khalifa Sparks Outrage with Controversial PTSD Wish for U.S. Troops

Mia Khalifa, a social media personality and a former star of adult films, has raised an uproar with her recent comments about the U.S. military personnel. She even went as far as to say that she would wish PTSD on the U.S. troops. Her Comment: Khalifa slammed the US army in the viral video as she openly wished PTSD for the US army. The video has triggered sharp criticisms from all quarters as debates are rife over the limits of free speech when it comes to sensitive topics like the veteran’s mental health.

In the minute-long video that quickly went viral across all social media platforms, Khalifa launched a scathing attack on U.S. military involvement overseas.

“Good morning to everyone sitting at home and not on soil that doesn’t belong to them, fighting a war for a country that doesn’t care about them,”

she started, setting the stage for her most controversial statement. Khalifa went further to say,

“I hope you run over there and get your little brain all scrambled with PTSD and come back here and then see how much the United States cares about you… Pookie”.

The comment, laced with sarcasm, was meant to point out what she perceived as neglect by the U.S. government of its veterans, more so on how it treated those suffering from nervous health issues like PTSD.

It didn’t take long for the backlash to ensue. Critics inundated social media platforms, referring to Khalifa’s remarks as heartless and disrespectful to those serving. Many said that no matter how a person feels about politics, to wish psychological trauma on anybody, but most especially on those who put their lives on the line, crosses the line of what is decent.

“She wore a hijab for a porn video she needs to keep her mouth closed.”

another Twitter user wrote, adding,

“Lmfao. A porn star is trying to insult men and women that serve their nation.”

On the other hand, however, Khalifa’s comments were also supported by many who joined her frustration with U.S. foreign policy. Her defenders said her remark, as much as that could be said, was a provocative representation of frustrations those critical of endless military interventions felt.

Ironically, Khalifa’s comments echo a previous incident just a day before. On 23rd October 2024, Twitch streamer FROGAN, whose real name is Morgan, was banned from Twitch several days after a one-minute 16-second clip of her talking about US soldiers getting PTSD went viral on social media, which she posted on 20th October 2024.

Considering the backlash from her comments, many have welcomed the platform’s decision, though Morgan herself has revealed that it was not due to this that she got banned. Both cases represent that thin line between political expression and inflammatory rhetoric with which discourse about the atmosphere on the internet has to cope.

Khalifa’s remarks about U.S. troops were not totally out of left field, given her broader political views. Over time, she has been fairly outspoken in her disapproval of U.S. military involvement in the Middle East, often taking a pro-Palestinian position. She has consistently attacked the foreign policies of the United States government for its backing of Israel and has further polarized herself in the public. For many, Khalifa’s recent comments on PTSD are an extension of her continuing critique against the U.S. involvement in conflicts that she believes do not serve the interest of either ordinary Americans or the global community.

Since she retired from the adult film industry, Mia Khalifa has reinvented herself entirely: a career transformation that few have managed to put together. She reinvented herself as a social media influencer, commentator, and advocate for various humanitarian causes. She has worked in fashion since 2024, creating high-profile appearances at events like the Mugler Fall/Winter collection in Paris. The changing public persona moves between being highly acknowledged for her controversial past to a voice on political and social issues. Khalifa also uses her Lebanese heritage in her advocacy, especially regarding her openness about Middle Eastern politics and human rights.

Despite her reinventions, Khalifa is no stranger to controversy. Her straight-shooting comments continued to drive headlines, and the PTSD comment was only the most recent in a line of them. Her style is likely to be unrepentantly bold in advocating for Palestinian rights and criticizing U.S. foreign policy, which invites both praise and backlash. The public reaction against her latest video only suggests the polarizing factor is likely to persist unabated since she shows no softening of her rhetoric.
