Marvel Stars Rally Behind Kamala Harris in Powerful New Video – Evans, Johansson, and More

In an unprecedented act of unity, stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have joined hands in support of Vice President Kamala Harris through an uplifting video that has gone viral on all social media platforms. Mark Ruffalo himself tweeted the video featuring the best of Marvel: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Danai Gurira, Paul Bettany, and Don Cheadle. Among those virtually gathered, the campaign slogans were brainstormed and viewers were encouraged to exercise their right to vote in this election.

The video begins with Scarlett Johansson, who has played Black Widow, welcoming the other Avengers into a live virtual discussion on the importance of voting. The atmosphere is light and jovial; it starts with Robert Downey Jr., our Iron Man, suggesting that Harris could use a catchy slogan for her campaign.

The group jokingly tosses around phrases like “I’m down with democracy,” but then quickly realizes the phrase might be misconstrued. ”I’m Kamala Harris, and I say down with democracy,” says Don Cheadle, in mock imitation of Harris’s voice, the final line tracing its way through the group in half-stifled giggles.

Video host Mark Ruffalo-as in, our very own Hulk-wants everyone to make a plan to vote and get your friends and family on board. It’s, moreover, a call to action, as Ruffalo reminds viewers that their vote is powerful and counts. The Avengers may well not be able to decide upon an official slogan for Harris, but their endorsement of the candidate come clear. “Kamala forever!” humorously says Danai Gurira, who played Okoye in Black Panther.

It concludes by giving the date of the election, which is November 5, and then gives a website, iwillvote.com, full of information about voting.

Ruffalo’s caption, along with the photo, reads, “We’re back. Let’s #AssembleForDemocracy. In the #ElectionEndgame, every vote counts. #VoteBlue! Vote @KamalaHarris @Tim_Walz.” Besides, he further underlined a number of issues worth voting for: women’s reproductive rights, climate change, LGBTQIA+ rights, public education, student debt relief, the Affordable Care Act, Social Security, and life-saving vaccines.

The latest high-profile support for Harris joins a long and star-studded list of supporters, including Beyonce, LeBron James, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Harris and former President Donald Trump scramble in the final days of the election to land last-minute support, particularly from voters in crucial battleground states.
It is not just within the Marvel Universe that Harris has gained support. She received endorsements from a wide variety of celebrities across every industry.

Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Eminem, Cher, Lizzo, Nicky Jam, and Don Omar were just some of the celebrities who publicly voiced their endorsements for Harris, pointing to her deep commitment for the empowerment of communities. New get-out-the-vote campaigns have focused on the following: empowerment and participation, unity and community, the impact of voting, dealing with misinformation, inclusion and representation, and a historic perspective on voting rights.

These messages try to inspire and mobilize voters, especially in very crucial election cycles. So, let’s all take a page from the Avengers’ book and assemble for democracy. After all, every vote counts.
