Marlon Garcia Home Robbery: Twitch Star Returns From Tour to Find LA House Destroyed

Twitch streamer Marlon Garcia is recovering after returning home from a weeks-long international livestream tour to find his Los Angeles house broken into and vandalized.

Garcia, 22, had been traveling overseas for a 40-day IRL streaming marathon when he returned to his recently purchased home on Dec. 4 and discovered extensive damage throughout the property. According to Garcia, burglars smashed through his back door, overturned boxes, pulled out drawers, and took several personal items — including his PlayStation 5.

The content creator captured his reaction in a video that quickly went viral across X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and Twitch clips. In the footage, which shows the home’s purple LED lighting flickering over scattered belongings, Garcia says, “Been gone for 40 days and walked into this. Just got this house. They smashed the whole back door and took everything.”

“I didn’t know until I just got here,” Marlon said. “Took my PS5, stole all my s*it, clothes everywhere. Yeah, fun bro.”

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the break-in. Neighbors told officers they had noticed suspicious activity near the home around November 20, providing a possible timeline for when the burglary occurred.

News of the incident sparked an outpouring of support — and debate — across the streaming community. Many fans expressed relief that the Sweden-born streamer was unharmed. “I’m just glad you’re safe, man. This could have been much worse,” one viewer commented.

Others pointed to the risks influencers face when publicly sharing travel plans, especially during extended absences. Some followers also questioned why Garcia, who has experienced rapid success on Twitch, had not yet installed a home security system or cameras.

Following the incident, Garcia told viewers he plans to make significant upgrades to his home’s safety features. “Cameras everywhere from now on,” he said during a follow-up stream.

The break-in highlights ongoing concerns about the vulnerabilities faced by creators who share large parts of their lives — including their schedules and whereabouts — with massive online audiences. Garcia has not said whether the incident will impact his upcoming streaming plans.
