Jury Finds Lil Mosey Not Guilty in Second Degree Rape Case!

A jury has found Lil Mosey not guilty in his second degree rape case. The Interscope Records rapper, whose real name is Lathan Moses Stanley Echols, faced up to life in prison if he were convicted.

The verdict comes a week after the trial began, and TMZ reports that Mosey was cleared of the charges after passing two lie detector tests. The musician pleaded not guilty to the charge, which went back to 2021, and voluntarily submitted to the tests.

He also passed a DNA test, according to TMZ. In addition, his lawyers argued that the evidence from the previous consensual sex was not sufficient to support a conviction for the new crime.

Lil Mosey will never get all that time back

While he was able to clear his name, it wasn’t the end of his troubles with the law. In August 2020, Mosey was arrested for gun possession after Burbank, California police discovered three loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistols in his Cadillac Escalade.

His arrest was a major setback for the 21-year-old rapper, who was a rising star at the time of his arrest. However, his legal team worked hard to overcome the obstacles. They even petitioned the judge to allow him to tour internationally and push his July 2021 court date to 2022, which was approved by the judge.

Mosey’s lawyer Shane O’Rourke told XXL that the musician was cleared of all charges, adding that it “should not be surprising that Mosey remained sober throughout the whole ordeal”. The Washington native had also pleaded not guilty to the charges and had voluntarily submitted to the polygraph test, he said.

After he was found not guilty, Mosey celebrated on social media. He posted the following message:

This is a great news for him, as it means he will be free of the charges against him and can continue his career in peace. It’s not the first time he’s been accused of rape, but it will likely be the last.

He’s had a lot of trouble in the music industry, but the fact that he’s been able to clear his name makes it all worth it. He was a rising star in the music industry at the time of his arrest, and his latest singles have been some of his most successful releases to date.

Can he bounce back from this set back?

The 21-year-old rapper’s most notable releases include his debut studio album Northsbest, which reached number one on the Billboard 200, and the song “Noticed,” a collaboration with Cole Bennett that peaked at number eight on the Hot 100. He also released the song “G Walk,” which is featured on his upcoming second studio album Certified Hitmaker.

The rape allegations landed in April of 2021, and Mosey took a brief break from music. He later returned with a series of music videos, including “How I Been” and “Problem Solvin,” which were uploaded exclusively to his official YouTube channel. He then released “Pass Out,” his first solo single since the allegations. This was his first single not backed by his label Interscope Records, and has amassed over 40 million views on YouTube.
