The montage started with a larger focus on NBA greats such as Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Tim Duncan, before zeroing in on James. It was a nice way to honor the Cleveland native, who is a four-time champion and a great inspiration for young basketball players.
James recently passed Abdul-Jabbar for the all time NBA scoring record during a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, which took his career total to 38,387 points. Several celebrities came out to congratulate him including Drake and Magic Johnson.
LeBron James is a true legend, and Jay-Z has witnessed the four-time NBA champion’s incredible rise to stardom. The rapper has watched James win championships, tense playoff games and gut-wrenching losses.
Despite all of his fame, Jay-Z still makes time for family and friends. He recently hung out with his eight-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, at a Lakers game and she was absolutely starstruck.
He also reconnected with Jordan, who inspired him to chase greatness. “I grew up listening to MJ’s music and his style of play. He made me feel like I could do anything,” says James, who was named the NBA’s MVP for demonstrating incredible athleticism and sportsmanship during the series.
