Senior reporter and editor Jamie White was tragically killed Sunday evening, late on the 9th of March, 2025, outside his residence in South Austin. The Austin Police Department confirmed that White was found to have visible trauma and was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed. There are no known suspects as yet, and the case is under investigation.
White’s homicide is Austin’s eighth murder this year, adding to new concerns over rising crime in the city. His death has drawn passionate reactions from fellow employees, media figures, and citizens, with the majority demanding justice and more responsibility on local police policies.
APD officers answered a call for help late Sunday evening. They located White with severe injuries that matched a violent attack. Police have not identified a suspect, but they have reassured the public that they are pursuing all tips.
APD is asking anyone who has information to step forward and stated, “We are doing everything we can to piece together what happened to Mr. White. We ask the public to assist us in bringing to justice those who are responsible.”
InfoWars host Alex Jones responded immediately to the murder of White, delivering a public statement on Monday. “We have to inform you with great sadness that InfoWars reporter Jamie White was brutally murdered late Sunday night, in part, as a consequence of the policies of Soros-backed Austin, TX District Attorney Jose Garza,” Jones wrote.
Jones also faulted Garza’s policies as causing the crime level to increase in the city, claiming that law enforcement was weakened under his leadership. “Jamie’s death will not be in vain, and the perpetrators of senseless violence will be held accountable,” he said.
On a broadcast on X , Jones referred to White as “good friend” and “InfoWars’ best writer,” commending his investigative journalism work. Jones asserted that White had been killed while walking home late Sunday night, and said, “You killed Jamie White. You opened the door, you created the atmosphere, you created conditions on purpose.”
White’s death triggered intense reactions on social media, where public leaders reacted in shock and demanded justice. Elon Musk reacted by retweeting the last post by White, where he had retweeted a tweet by Musk: “Yeah, why are liberals so violent?” Musk credited “legacy media propaganda” with fomenting violence and division.
Author and journalist Chase Geiser also paid tribute to White, saying, “Jamie honored the ancient Spartan proverb, ‘with your shield or on it.’ Although I’m saddened to see he’s come home on his shield, it’s men like him that allow us to press on in the InfoWar.”
