Finesse2Tymes Posts Bond, Released After Texas Drug Arrest

Finesse2tymes has been released from a Texas jail after being arrested on multiple drug-related charges earlier this week.

The 33-year-old performer, whose real name is Ricky Leshay Hampton, was booked into Harrison County Jail on Monday, October 20, and released the following day after posting a $14,155 bond, according to online jail records.

Authorities say the Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Finesse2tymes and is now facing eight charges, including four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

The tampering charge is severe, as investigators believe the rapper may have attempted to hide or destroy evidence during his arrest.

This latest arrest comes less than a month after the rapper and his girlfriend, Halle Buckingham (who goes by FNG Shugga), were taken into custody in Smith County, Texas, following a traffic stop in Tyler. Police say that during that stop, they found 0.7 ounces of marijuana, 12 oxycodone pills, and seven methylphenidate pills in the vehicle.

The rapper has faced several legal hurdles in 2025, including turning himself in earlier this year for a probation violation. His legal troubles date back more than a decade: in 2010, he was sentenced to eight years in prison for two counts of aggravated robbery, serving six before being released in 2016. He was later sentenced to five years in federal prison in 2018 for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and was released in 2022.

Following his arrest, Finesse2tymes’ mother, Pluria Alexander, took to Facebook to share an emotional message about her son’s ongoing struggles.

“Until you do right by me everything you think about gone fail,” she wrote, calling the experience of watching her son deal with mental health issues, substance use, and repeated arrests a “constant heartbreak.”

Despite describing their relationship as strained, Alexander said she still loves her son deeply.

As of now, Finesse2tymes and his representatives have not publicly commented on the charges.

The Memphis native, best known for songs like “Back End” and “Overdose,” has built a growing fan base in the Southern rap scene. However, his rising career has often been overshadowed by legal trouble, and his latest arrest marks yet another setback for the rapper.
