Authorities say Savon Miller was found with gunshot wounds in the courtyard of an apartment complex in the 5100 block of N. Brookline Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. on August 7. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Oklahoma City Police Department says the deadly encounter may have been tied to a post Miller made earlier that day on X (formerly known as Twitter) in which he allegedly referenced
“I just had to beat a white boy ass came to my door on some drunk shit, knocked his ass back sober”.
This post was allegedly referencing Talor Brannon, the 22-year-old man who was subsequently charged with Miller’s murder. The exact circumstances that led to the confrontation remain unclear. Still, investigators believe tensions between Miller and Talor Brannon, and possibly a third person, turned violent.
Police arrested Brannon shortly after arriving at the scene. He has been booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on charges of First-Degree Murder and First-Degree Burglary. Bond has been denied.
This case marks Oklahoma City’s 44th homicide of 2025, according to police.
In a statement, officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and encouraged anyone with information to call the department’s Homicide Tip Line at 405-297-1200.
As with all criminal matters, Brannon is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
