In the new year, some rappers have fallen on hard times. Former Pretty Ricky rapper Baby Blue isn’t doing so hot in 2022. Unfortunately, the 37-year-old ran into trouble with the feds after committing a financial scam. He made a recent post titled the “Last Supper” in relation to his upcoming jail sentence . While the former Pretty Ricky member gave his farewell, fans were less than sympathetic to his situation. In fact, his fanbase downright accused him of being over dramatic about his short sentencing.
Baby Blue Faces Jail Sentencing
Baby Blue committed a huge crime back in 2020. He was accused of filing fake loan applications to obtain funds specifically geared to help out small businesses during the novel pandemic. Specifically, the rapper collected the money from the U.S. Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Making matters worse, he collected more than $24 million. Furthermore, the rapper will “serve up to 20 months in jail after pleading guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud last December.”
On Sunday, February 6th, Baby Blue made an Instagram post of his “Last Supper” as a sort of farewell to everyone. In addition, Baby Blue held a private farewell party at Prime 112 in Miami with some of his closest friends and family.
“My immediate circle of family and friends joined me . . . to say their farewells on the even of my prison surrender . . . The night was filled with tears and laughter. I love you all. See you soon. Don’t forget to write,” he wrote in the captions.
The former Pretty Ricky rapper certainly made a show out of his sentencing.
The Fans Tell Him He’s Being “Extra”
While some people expressed their sympathies to the rapper, others didn’t. The fans, in particular, thought Baby Blue overreacted about his jail sentence. Many of them pointed out the detail that he’d only be away for 1 year and 8 months.
Several fans wrote, “He acting like he about to do life without parole.” Maybe Baby Blue did over reach with his “Last Supper” post.
One thing’s for sure though, he plans on making the best out of his jail sentencing, no matter how short it may seem.
