Elizabeth Olsen Officially Joins Avengers Doomsday

Elizabeth Olsen is rumored   to officially stepping back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Doomsday! According to reports, Elizabeth Olsen has signed a new contract with Marvel Studios, which includes her appearances in Avengers: Doomsday among other projects. After that emotional exit in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda Maximoff is ready for her grand return, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

While Marvel Studios has not confirmed this, a number of sources suggest that she will have a major role in the movie.

For many fans, Scarlet Witch is way overdue. Elizabeth Olsen has been a knockout in the MCU-to see her return to Avengers: Doomsday will be a dream come true.

Elizabeth Olsen, in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, spoke about how excited she was to be back playing Wanda:

“I think I’m dead… or maybe not,” she laughed. “I’d love to figure out how to cleverly be ‘undead.’ It’s going to take the smartest writers to make it work, but I’m open to it.”

The enthusiasm Olsen has for her character is contagious.

“I had so much fun doing these movies,” she admitted. “I’d beg to leave a window open for more Scarlet Witch stories.”

It can be clear that playing Wanda isn’t just a role for her-its something she loves.

Avengers: Doomsday, coming in 2026, will likely be one of the most ambitious Marvel projects to date. It’s difficult to get any sense of plot details because they are literally locked away, but rumors suggest it will tie very deeply into the resurrection of the Scarlet Witch and the multiverse saga. Returning with Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom raises the stakes to even higher levels, and Wanda Maximoff promises an important role.

Certainly, Wanda Maximoff of Elizabeth Olsen has tugged at the emotional heartstrings. From her pitied romance with Vision to being overtly crippled in loss and bereavement on WandaVision, Scarlet Witch now is possibly among the most identifiable and most imposing characters within MCU.

In these ways, fans have taken such a liking to her: one filled with multi-dimensional shades within her nature-a true marvel which feels completely compensatory that guarantees a story arc shall be provided well.

Marvel seems to understand that connection. Bringing back Scarlet Witch isn’t about the action and the drama; it’s about giving fans more of that character they’ve grown to love.

Olsen’s return will not end with Avengers: Doomsday, as she is set to voice the animated series about the darker and more zombie-like Scarlet Witch, Marvel Zombies, due for release in October 2025. This series gives a totally new spin on Wanda, taking her character to more serious dimensions.

There’s also rumors milling around regarding her appearance in upcoming shows, like Agatha: Darkhold Diaries and Vision Quest; maybe those will further flesh out Wanda’s connections with magic and the multiverse, and with other characters.

Bringing Scarlet Witch back into the game isn’t going to be easy, but Marvel’s never been one to shy away from a challenge. That, for the studio, means rounding up some great writers to help craft a story that feels both new and relevant. It is through Olsen, though, that any route into a rehabilitation arc will really be charted.

“I feel like fans deserve a story that makes sense and gives respect to what came before,” she said. She is committed enough to honoring what has happened in Wanda’s story that only heightens excitement about her character’s return.

Social media went wild immediately upon the release of the announcement. “Elizabeth Olsen is BACK as Scarlet Witch?! I’m not ok,” one tweeted. The theories are already flowing in thick and fast as fans speculate on Wanda’s return, from multiverse variants to mystical resurrection arcs.

The return of the Scarlet Witch isn’t just a plot twist but a way to bring out the themes of redemption, growth, and resilience. Wanda’s journey has always been more than about her powers; it’s about her humanity, her struggles, and her triumphs.
