In 2004, Andy Reid took the Philadelphia Eagles to SuperBowl XXIX but lost to the New England Patriots. Which before winning the SuperBowl in 2017, it was the closest we have been in the modern era to win a SuperBowl. Andy Reid had an overall record of 130-93-1 in the span of 14 seasons. In 2002, Coach Reid was selected as the NFL Coach of the Year after a 12-4 season. In 2010, he coached Michael Vick, quarterback, to the NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Andy “Big Red” Reid was indeed a blessing to the Philadelphia sports world. Reid led the Eagles to a large sum of success and a lot of wins. Although Big Red did not win a championship with the Eagles, he gave everything he had into winning one in the city of brotherly love and fell just short.

The Eagles current head coach, Doug Peterson, previously had worked under Andy Reid with the Eagles from 2009-2012, and again worked under Reid from 2013-2015 with the Cheifs. It is important to note that Andy Reid has a significant influence on Doug Peterson, and without that influence, it is possible that the Eagles would not have won the SuperBowl in 2017.

Coach Doug Peterson says in an interview with Sports Illustrated, “That’s always been the one thing that I’d give him a lot of credit for, where I attribute a lot of my success, where I owe it to him, because it’s what he instilled, that work ethic.” Andy Reid’s influence on Doug Peterson is directly correlated with winning the SuperBowl in 2017.

    Thank You Big Red

With Andy Reid’s influence on Doug Peterson, has instilled a work ethic that has proven to bring a SuperBowl. As Eagles fans, we hope that it will bring another in the future.

Again, Andy Reid gave everything he had to bring a championship to Philadelphia but fell just short. Let us show our gratitude and appreciation to Big Red this Sunday and root for the Cheifs!
