A deeply emotional video that has rapidly spread across social media platforms captures a father, absent from his young son’s life for several years, delivering a DoorDash order to the boy’s residence and walking past him without any acknowledgment.
The incident, recorded on a Ring doorbell camera at a suburban home, was originally posted to TikTok by the child’s mother under the handle @ddcarmelkisses. In the clip, a man dressed in a gray hoodie and sweatpants arrives on foot carrying multiple DoorDash bags. A young boy, believed to be between 8 and 12 years old, is seen playing outside near the porch area.
According to the mother’s voiceover narration, the father immediately recognized his son but chose not to speak to him or make eye contact. The boy can be heard politely saying “Thank you” as the delivery is left at the door. The man places the order down, turns around, and walks away briskly without responding.
In the heated voiceover, the mother states: “This [man] just did a DoorDash delivery to my house, walked right past his son who was playing outside and didn’t say shit… How the fuck you walk past your kid and not acknowledge him is crazy.” She added that the father has not been involved in his son’s life for 4–5 years and has provided little to no support during that time. The family has reportedly lived at the same address for years.
The mother noted that her son only realized the delivery driver was his father after the family reviewed the footage later.
The video has since gone massively viral, with millions of views across TikTok, Instagram (where it was amplified by accounts including RaphouseTV), X, and Facebook over the past 48 hours.
Public reaction has been sharply divided. Many commenters have expressed outrage toward the father, calling the moment heartbreaking and labeling him a “deadbeat” parent. Others, however, have cautioned that only one side of the story is being presented, suggesting possible complicating factors such as custody disputes, restraining orders, ongoing conflicts with the mother, or personal circumstances that may have influenced his decision to stay silent.
The story has struck a nerve online, sparking widespread conversations about parental estrangement, co-parenting challenges, and the emotional toll absent parents can have on children. As of now, there has been no public response from the father.
